How to Claim From Ryanair (Volcanic Disruption)

Attached below is the latest received from Ryanair. Anyone else got one yet? The AUC say they've never heard of any such 'Regulation' but they are now starting to get a lot of complaints from those unsuccessfully seeking reimbursement and have said they will be taking them up with the airlines concerned. The advice is still to send copies of all correspondence to the AUC.
Dear Customer,
We acknowledge the receipt of your recent letter.
We regret to advise that our position remains as per our previous
correspondence.
According to the Regulation, as you chose not to wait for a flight, there is no
automatic entitlement to travel by other means at the airline's expense. Please
also find below an extract from the Irish National Enforcement Body’s,
Commission for Aviation Regulation’s, website which is clear on this situation:
“It is important to note that in the event that passengers made alternative
arrangements to get home i.e. by boat, train or with another air carrier, then
the original air carrier is only obliged to provide a refund of the cost of the
flight ticket.”
As Ryanair has already processed a refund of your unused flight, no further
reimbursement can be paid.
Our decision regarding this issue is final and no further correspondence will be
entered into.
Yours Sincerely,
Ryanair Customer Services0 -

That'll probably be a no.
We sent our claim/receipts in before any process was available online. They acknowledged receipt of it then sent me the e-mail to start my claim online and fill out the claim form. I replied to their e-mail 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything back. I haven't filled in the form as we've already sent our claim in.
I think the next stage will be to fax them and if we still don't get a response I don't know what we can do.0 -
I posted a reply about this but i think it was on the board to deal specifically with the volcanic ash cloud. like you I submitted a letter and copies of all receipts at the end of april. I then received an email asking me to fill in the claim form and send it back to them. I phoned them and ascertained that once I had done this, the details would be married up with my original letter and I would not have to resubmit my receipts. this i did and have now received an email giving details of my refund. i am not happy as I claimed just over £600 (of which £360 was accommodation costs) and they are sending me a cheque for £432 which i am going to query. I am however pleased they are sending me a cheque rather than recrediting the card I used to pay for the flights which was an escape card.0

I'll repeat my question from 17th July now another month has passed: Has anyone had a penny in compensation yet from Ryanair?0
-
not me as yet0

Likewise not a penny yet. I know a few people that have had part of their claim rejected because of no VAT receipts are issuing the letter before action and are going to take the matter through the small claims court unless Ryanair provide assurance as to when they are gonig to pay up0

Into September now, so has anyone received their compensation from Ryanair or are they just going to keep all the money and not fulfill their legal obligations?0
-
I have received a cheque but it is only about two thirds of what i claimed so I am going to write and ask them why they have arbitrarily decided what they will and will not refund.0

I haven't received anything yet. They also refuse to answer any correspondence.
I have just entered my story about this on the BBCs Watchdog website. Can I suggest that everyone does the same. The subject may well then be aired on their show.0
