Memorygirls - Make Do and Mend

I love obsessions. The trick is to harness them so that you get as much out of it as possible whilst in the full white heat of one.
Replaced the window this morning, it was deeply deeply satisfying.0 -
Good evening all, good evening Memorygirl,
I actually feel rather full of myself just now. Remember sometime ago I posted a message about the fact that putting aside £1.85 a day can make one a millionaire? Well has been haunting me since because I could not figure out whether it is possible at all. Tonight did some calculations and in theory it is possible - in fact in theory it doesn't sound that scary. Don't want to repeat but the calculation is on my diary (Learn to control money...) if anyone is interested. Any comment and practical suggestion can be shared - we are powerful women in our prime.
Good night

Hi Memory Girl, excellent thread! I haven't read all of it (actually I've only read the first 3 pages so far) but I'll be back tomorrow to get the next installment and one day I'll catch up. In the meantime, if you come across any random posts by me that may not make sense currently, it's probably because I haven't caught up yet! lol
Best wishes to you and keep up the good work, you're an inspiration to many.

OMG thats is definitely something i want to see and understand. i am working on my attitude to money - so that when i have some spare I can do the very best with it. A long term painless plan sounds like the way to go.
My good news is I have IN MY HAND the next £125 towards my Master plan of paying off the mortgage.:T:T.
I thoroughly enjoyed colouring in my next leaf of my "money tree" this morning - but standing here looking at the tree i can'thelp but wonder if I'm focussing on the right thing.
The Personal guarantee to the bank is being paid back at £330 per 4 week period (10k in total, £4620 paid with £5380 paid) in just 12 months. So doing pretty good. Cash in hand stands at £1435.
Am i donig the right thing salting my extra savings away to one side. i don't want to put it into the mortgage at the moment because then it just gets swallowed up (or bank uses right of offset to pay off the guarantee quicker). When interest rates rise I will need access to these funds to "top-up" the mortgage component of my budget IYSWIM as i make my way back to work.
I want the guarantee paid off as quickly as possible - because i don't want the bank to attempt to repossess or something daft again, but at the same time i don't want to leave us with no wiggle room should situations change.
i'm rambling now - so i will head back to the writing. you never know i may come up with an international best seller that a publisher pays me £125000 for :rotfl::rotfl:
Think i should start programming for that now?

oh!!! forgot to say
Today i am in light cotton demin skirt
white shirt
chunky necklace
Blue tights
blue sling-back shoes
blue scarf and denim jacket for going out
Yes!!! i am still working the 24 pieces for all I'm worth.
Over the weekend the local furniture charity had a blue spot weekend - everything with a blue spot you can have for free. i got a pine table for sitting our tv and video on.
I now have a livingroom complete with random and mismatched pine furniture. Definitely more shabby than chic. My hope is that after they are all painted up they will look lovely and matching and a shade more designer-y!!!
Oh!! that gives me an idea for something I want to add into the book.

Morning MG, surely the 125k will be your advance
In my mind, savings provide the cushion to allow us to try new things and know that no matter what, the bills will be paid.

Morning MG. I have a mantra about money "I have more than enough for my needs" I believe in positive thinking. I have often returned to this mantra through my adult life and I can honestly say that when I think like this then I seem to attract money. I know it sounds impossible but I really believe it. For example, just two months ago when I was getting my wages I would work out my budget and think "oh no I have no money" Then I woke myself up, started looking at my budget and thinking "oh well, I have more than enough for my needs - what I want is another matter and I will have to find ways to get what I want without breaking the bank" since then I have obtained an oak bed (worth £500) for just £100 (earnings from ebay paid for it). A new turntable for OH from freecycle. I seem to find money on the floor at least once a week.
Sorry for the ramble, I just wanted to share.
Now I am heading over to Firewalkers diary to discover the secret of becoming a millionaire with £1.85 per day. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -

fees are not sorted out -yet!!!!!!! I have managed to get the school listed on my on-line banking and have been sneaking pennies away here and there. As is stands - with one month to go before term starts I have paid a HUGE 1%, a whole £50.
I have agreed to do some mind-maps for a friends business client and they are donating money to the school in DS1's name - which is another £1200. £400 of which is alredy done.
Another Memory Speaker wants 2 mind-maps for his new book - so that will be another £400 in DS1 name.
TOTAL OF £1650 so far - or 33% organised.
I have a massive pile of ebay / car boot stuff here to move on as well - so hoping to make another £100 from that.
I need to get back to work - need to write the book arghhhhhh!!!!!
and breathe MG - just concentrate on one thing at a time
