  • I am going to post a request at my work and collect them. Also going to put a request in our church newsletter and ask for an announcement to be made at choir rehearsals. OH is going to do that at his work as well. And we are going to ask his Mum to ask her friends as well...!

All I need is an address to send/ship them to!

    (and Hippos too :o )

MG, could you do a days work over here? I think I could get you a booking........

    Oooh - I love that idea - but I trump you one.:D

As long as I could get out to SA with DS1 and have some spendies for him whilst I was there - how does this grab you?

You can have my time as my contribution towards your charity (as well as the strips obviously) ................. so I could give quick talks to any organisation that would help support your charity in the future - rotary, network organisations, local and national press local firms, consulates, universities, medical schools - you get the idea?

Maybe you could find a on-the-ground bod in marketing or PR who could help you do a Kits-4-Kids launch tour where you wheel out the mad Memorygirl so that we make sure they remember your charity in the future.

That way its a WIN-WIN and everybody (well mostly the kids) benefit.

I sent an e-mail out round the Finance team yesterday asking for football strips and have been promised two shirts so far. Also there has been dangled in front of me the possibility of an entire team's worth as I have a colleague whose daughter's team are changing their strip. The drawbacks to this is that it is a local team rather than a Premier League team and they play in pink (well they are girls). However if any of your kids actually runs a team they may be taken with the idea of a new team strip.
I have been offered various shirts which aren't Premier League (Farsley Celtic anyone?) and I'm gratefully accepting everything. If you don't want them I may have to quietly pass them on to a charity shop or if you get cheap freight then I shall send you them anyway and you could try to sell on any that aren't needed.

What was said about boots as I've been offered them as well?

Oh - now thats a great idea - who do I know thats upgrading their strips??

Means the kids could form their own teams doesn't it?

You know when you have one of those days when the Universe is telling you what you should be doing, and using a megaphone to do it? Today is one of those days.

I have been struggling a bit with trying to work out what I really, really want to do with my life. I thought for a while it might have been my own business, and I think that might feature somewhere... but it suddenly struck me what my ideal job would be with a peculiar amount of force.

And you know the peculiar thing? Ever since I was small, I have loved writing stories. I am remembering that one of Mr Big's challenges was to think about what we did as a child and what we enjoyed. :D

Right, I am practically hyperventilating at my desk with excitement at the moment! Need to make a cup of tea and calm down a bit and then I need to think about how I am going to do this.

Thank you MG for this thread and the amazing things it inspires. (and I do hope DS1 is happier today. BIG HUGS to you both)

I've just put an ad on freecycle, just need to ask a mate nicely if they will take me to collect if/when I have a response.
