"who do you know who might be getting rid of a large freezer for souk to adopt?:D

Or even a small one! I'm just imagining myself with just my feet poking out of an enormous chest freezer as I launch myself in to get a bag of frozen peas!!!!! I'm only 5'0!!!!

:j:j:j oooh!!! another one inspired to say "i'm not playing with this recession - i'm going to do what makes my heart sing"

just imagine - if we could support one person a week to take the leap - we would have 52 new business started in a year. how cool would that be.

Just putting this idea out there......

I am being made redundant next April after 25 years. I already do Admin and Finance for a local builder and am thinking of expanding this to other local business so that I can work from home or very local to home.

Yay to no more 2 hour a day commutes :j So I hope to be one of your 52 in the next 3-6 months :D

I am trying very hard to keep up with this thread but struggling :o
I try and have a read every day but it is moving so fast.
I decided to buy Eat, Pray, Love and see if that helps me (can't get hold of The Secret at all).
You all are so motivated and inspirational on here, that if I don't keep up I can still glean useful hints and tips from you all.
    Thank you :)

I watched Eat, Pray, love in the cinema last night, it was really good though OH slept through it and said it was the worst movie he's ever seen. Can recommend it!

    Good morning

Having a blitz of the house today, Dh has decided to help with the decluttering ( he won't touch my jewellery stuff ) but is clearing out drawers and corners in the dining room at the moment.

The only thing is that theres now more mess :( can't moan i'm having help :)

Can't finish the kitchen cause we need to buy tile paint, and theres only enough money for sandwich stuff for the week until dh gets paid and i get my dla on weds :(

I don't want to touch the jewellery money i've had, as I've now actually after 5 years got the business paying for itself :) next step is actually earning the £20 a week i'm allowed. :) dh has dug my jewellery pliers out from under the stairs (was put there in july after the big cheese :) I haven't made any jewellery since then :() ready for the earrings to be ordered once the beads arrive :)

Sounds good Claire! And decluttering always makes more mess at first - its only when the stuff you're throwing away is out of the house, and the stuff you're keeping is put back, that you can see the difference :)

Taka - what you make is beautiful! Very stylish, I love it.

clairewop - I love the opulence of your bracelet designs, and I think your Christmas designs are just fantastic, a really good take on Christmas trees in particular.

cherisong - so sorry you didn't get the voluntary redundancy. If, after a little while, you *can* use it to spur you on to fulfil your heart's desire, well, thats very special, and you *have* to keep posting about it :)

MG - I'm only on page 165 as I'm typing this (can't keep up!!!) I hope you managed to get your hair cut yesterday for you know what tomorrow :)

Thankyou :) my head is getting so big, with all the compliments that i won't be able to leave the house soon :)

More xmas earring designs and halloween designs to come :) when the beads get here I cannot wait :)

You got me thinking hon - i actually do have a plan for "filling the room" - its all laid out on mind maps.

Give me a wee while and i will write it in longhand and post it up for you to have a scoot at - but it all breaks down in to really little chunks, remember the 15 minute thingie.

so anyone whos thinking about having me visit ,it won't be down to you alone to fill the room - but instead working with a group of people and us all doing little bits that link together.

    like with claire -

if 100 of us decide to distribute 100 emailable or printed leaflets for claires jewellery directing peeps to the website, thats 10,000 people. If 3% of those people buy a present for Christmas and the average spend is a fiver - then claire will make £1500 worth of sales from us supporting her with 15 minutes of our time.

    Does that make sense?

Same principle applies to so much of what we are all doing - a lot of people dong a little.

back soon with my plan i promise

We could do this with everyone who is starting a business :) i'd be happy to help.

I've had a few people asking for flyers :) just need to get different ones sorted as the ones I've had done which are absolutely FAB!!! advertise parties lessons etc.

ok - so just throwing another idea back at you:D

remember this week i had a day with a business coach? well one of the things he kept harping on about was "knowing your numbers" - about the importance of knowing where you are day by day. (does this seem familiar to all us DFW's?)

one of the first things he does is get his small business owners to contract out the book-keeping, management and coaching reports and basic admin. leaving the business builders free time to concentrate on working on the business rather than in the business.

when i asked him who he recommmended people use in this area he looked at me blankly:D. So i suggested it would be a great idea if he found someone, who understood the business coaching reports that needed to be done, then he has a seamless transition.

He agreed that would be an excellent idea:rotfl:. go me coaching a business coach:rotfl:

now this guys works for the company that brad sugars set up - if you google his name you will find his site - and then you will be able to find his local coaches.

if each one of those coaches has a handful of people who could use your skills - you could be off and rolling pretty sharpish.

just a thought after this week.
