    Hi MG

just wanted to pop-in from my lurking to say thank you for getting me re-focussed on my debts:o
i haven't read all the thread - just a few pages at the beginning and a few at the end - you lot can't half 'talk':D
but one of your ideas really struck a cord with me - the 1000 payments and your tree (how's it going by the way). I'm not in the slightest bit creative but I've still drawn a tree (very dodgy looking it is too) and 'blank leaves'. Best of all 3 leaves are already coloured in and 1/4 of another is already sitting in a savings account:T
i've only done 155 payments as i'm not including my mortgage, once the 155 are done i'll start another tree and i've put it in my signature too.

    once again thanks.

i like to think that this could be a group that anyone could come to when they are having their "will i won't i?" wobble.

look how far you have come with a little gentle nagging, some not so gentle prodding and a couple of "oi you!!" shouts :rotfl:

As you go off energised and focussed, someone else will shout "will i, won't i?" and you will be able to chip in "yes!! - look what they supported me in doing"

It makes my heart soar that the people here will step in and help - and watching them help you is what inspired me to start to create the "memorygirl matrix" - so if you think about it, you have been intrumental in helping lots of people in the future reach their "i'm flying" moment.

And when I think about it - there are several hundred people in my work & several hundreds in DH's work so flyers are no problem -and dropping stuff off at Haggerston when we go down to the caravan is another market. And that's without even much thought.....

basically MG came up with the brilliant idea of breaking her mortgage down into 'manageable' numbers.

for example say you owe 100,000 thats 100 paymnets of £1000 - not very manageable but 1000 payments of £100 is another story, some people may even have 2000 of £50 etc.

and being the creative being she is MG drew herself a tree with 1000 leaves on and every time a payment is made a leaf gets coloured in - a very visual way of seeing our debts disappear - especially if like me you make these payments extras as well as your usual payments.

every spare penny/pound plus any that you earned extra is tucked away in a savings account/pot until its enough for one leaf and then its paid off your debt (I've been moving the money thats left at the end of the week into my savings account - this week it was only £1.53 but every penny counts)

    hope that makes sense

    loving the posts today :)

I've recently got a book which has helped me with my procrastination.....which has stopped me doing a lot of stuff over the years. It's called eat that frog by brian tracy - fab! :) Basically says that I should do that one big thing that I least want to do first to get it over and done with in the day - it's common sense, but I needed the book to organise it in my brain!!

MG - I've seen a few references to your books - sounds interesting - are they on general sale? Where can I find them?
