Very long story short: Mike came on MSE a desperate man, living in awful circumstances because a builder gutted his home and then ran away with the money. He had lost his job and his way in life. The support on here got him fired up enough to take action & he managed to get DIY SOS Big Build in to finish his whole house.

Mike's Mob are MSE'ers who helped him on the way.

Wow, that's amazing. I've seen the thread about the builders, I must have a look. I've seen "Mike's mob" in lots of signatures around here but didn't know what it was about.
when i am back working i am going to commission a special piece to wear just so that i can tell your story as part of the seminar - and i will wear it with much pride that i know such a strong and determined woman.

I love it. That's reminding me of Richard in "Eat, Pray, Love". He became rather successful as a result of his part in the book.

Anyhoo, I just thought I'd drop in and say hi :D

  • Hi all,

Had my head down today. Felt good to be flexing my design muscles again, instead of pursuing displacement activities, but I ache now :rotfl:So, so glad you like yours Claire.

Groatie queen - one thing that occurred to me when people were posting re bubble kits is that I think they are quite easy to improvise. Wire coat hanger or similar for the hoop and just the right mix of water and washing up liquid. Of course it will involve extensive experimentation to get it JUST right, how awful :D

    Positive vibes to all,

    TGR :)
  • most pound shops sell bubbles, supermarkets often have packs of 6 say in the party bag/goodies section....

I have some somewhere in this house....

I like this week's challenges. MG - I could advise you on setting up a facebook page if you are still stuck... I have got 50+ followers on facebook fan page for my website which I got by posting links on my main facebook account and asking others to ask others to trial it for me.... Just a thought... On twitter you get followers by following others.... its kind of etiquette and then hopefully one day it will start snowballing....

Clairewop - Just wondered how many you make of each piece? It's just people are normally willing to pay more if they know only a limited number are produced. e.g. Are they one off's, or limited editions of up to 100 for example. Printing little limited edition slips and signing them could be worth the effort, you'd normally put 1/100 or 2/100 etc on the slip. The smaller the edition the more people are willing to pay extra.

For big soap bubbles you need to add something extra besides the detergent, found this recipe here:

    Morning all,

Well today is the day!!!!!!!! Will my life change dramatically from today or do I still need to work a different way around. Will be back tonight to let you all know. The decision is already made, just getting the phone call whilst standing on an information stand in a freshers fayre with no chance of a break so I would be very grateful to feel lots of wonderful vibes flying across the atmosphere to Swansea Uni to help me cope with whatever the decision is.
    Thanks
