Mallory towers and the Chalet School books - my absolute favourite, plus anything by Enid Blyton.
Also I remember My friend Mr Leaky, fab book,
When I was a kid I played schools a lot. so that worked well. As I got older and watched LA LAW I wanted to be a solicitor, glad I didn't now.

aww thankyou,
The dining room table need a bit of restoring done to it. there are white water marks all over it and deep scratches. hopefully it can be done.
the bay as you can see is quite damp so needs to be treated.
And the windows well .... they arn't dirty lol they need to be taken out, cleaned and re sealed, the stuff that looks like dirt is between the panes not on the inside or outside
Told you this house is going to be a mammoth job lol
My SIL has just had some units in her house replaced they only cost about thirty pound each but does depend on the size although it's a great deal cheaper than replacing the whole window.Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳

Just letting you know that the books arrived today. They look great. About the workshop idea ..... think that's great. My suggestion would be to make some flyers to go home in book bags. Make contact with local schools and ask them to send them home with year 6 (10/11). Their parents would probably be up for it if the kids are due to sit end of primary tests or entrance exams for secondary. Right now (next few weeks) is the time to grab these customers! If you got say 5 kids from a class of 30 then by approaching 10 schools you would have the fees nearly paid. What about seeing if a school would buy you in to do a whole class workshop. You could offer the school a discount if they book a class of 30. Or how about offering it to the teachers in a school?
Just a few ideas.
Enjoy your weekend.

i've had a chat with a couple of teachers and a headteacher that I know up here in scotland. turns out they aren't able to put slips home with the kids as its seen as "commercial" - and all training must be supplied through local authority.
however out of five teachers i have got six kids ready to do the course (their kids) so what they have asked for is an email that they can forward to their contacts to try and contact more kids iyswim?
so we do it by the back door - which is fine

And that is the difference between success and failure - too many people would give up at the "we can't send home slips" comment, assuming that the door had shut on them completely.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. There, there...I read somewhere that if one is to be successful (in any occupation) they have to be able to take a minimum of three rejections. This focuses one's mind and sharpens their thinking and reasoning - apart of signalling resolve.
Untill recently I did give up after one rejection - and than went away and to lick my bleading soul.
No more. Bring it on...
