The shirts fitted my fellas perfectly. DS looked so grown up, handsome devil.

Ok then, I will sort out the best way of packaging it up and transporting it and will get it sorted. I am working all week, then away skiing over the weekend, so it may be that I don't send it until the early part of next week, but it will go then at the latest.

I am behind too, but I am surprised a bit by my reaction to the challenges. I have found them emotional to write, and actually a bit. I am not sure what brings this sort of disconcerted feeling. On paper I am really living my dreams but my everyday life is not very enjoyable at the moment with no good reason. There are some things out of sync here. Is this because change is actually happening, like 'growing pains' and it's something positive? But on the other hand, is it so hard to see the perfect week because I feel I don't deserve it?

Of course it may also be that I am confronting my fears about going away. The PhD field work I chose was meant to be a huge challenge and hopefully to help me learn to handle my emotions and not let them get the better of me, and to confront some low-level anxiety. The thing I have noticed about the challenges is how much they open you up as a person, not just to the possibilities of what you can do, but also who you can be. This state I think is not always easy as it does involve confronting things. And also accepting things - responsibility and also gifts and inputs which is also not always easy. I thought I had 'no baggage' (is this possible?) but now it seems like there is quite a lot. I intend to persevere as I know it will be fully worthwhile. Is it bad that all I am seeing is negatives? That my perfect week is the week that I am regretting not having now and my 'must haves' list are a 'regret I don't have' list? Hmmm...

  • I can't get on-line to the challenge at the moment but if I'm right it's to de clutter your purse & what's the wierdest thing?

    I win. :j I win :j

    Piece of my Dad's coffin

cheap coffin (a la Ethiopia & Thailand )& when DH & brother were carrying round the crematorium at the temple(a la Thai Buddhist funeral) a bit broke off in DH's hand. I can't throw it away - I just can't - so in my purse it stays.

PS - my whole family are born & bred in Scotland & have been back for several generations. The foreign connections have a long & interesting story

It is, indeed, a 3/4 size - I have a full set of violins of my own and have measured the spare one against my own 3/4 size so know it is correct.

It is decent (not a modern chinese flat pack version) but will need re-stringing (there are spare strings in the case, so should be easy to do) and the bow needs tidying up where some of the hairs are loose, and of course has a proper case.

So, it is yours if you want it - will need to work out whether to use royal mail or DHL etc so might take a few days to get to you, but if you would like it, let me know.

If it then turns out it is not what you need, or is the wrong size, the only request is that you pass it on to someone else who needs it!

    oh thats so nice :T

MG hope you dont mind me joining in , i am so inspired by the thread ( and blog) and would like to join the challenges :)

I have read your previous threads and am halfway through this one
also eagerly awaiting the arrival of the book x
  • Feeling more positive this morning. Though I suspect that is because I have tomorrow off work! And cos tomorrow is my birthday!! :) We have a lovely day planned stomping about Chatsworth and drooling at all the lovely food in their farm shop!

Decided on an amount of money that I am going to ask the Universe for in order to afford the perfect house. Haven't written it down yet, but will definitely do so! :) Read Hubby my perfect week and he was nodding along happily, and then I read the in depth description of my perfect house, which I have recently written down and he was thrilled with it! :) Feels good that he likes what I like too...!

Just popping off to read the blog...and will report back. :)
