  • Stumbled across a to do list i created (after reading the book!) at the start of the year. Funny how your priorities change, isn't it. After reading this thread from the start, my way of thinking has definately shifted! Was actually excited when i did my online shop (using a money off voucher), to see that my dd's cereals we're 20p cheaper per box lol! So did i stock up...you bet i did! :T

Csarina, are there many other oil users in your area?,if so, you can save loads by getting together to form a 'buying company'. Each month (or Quarter depending on usage), the 'company' pays for one tanker-full of fuel to be delivered to the companies customers.

As you are collectively purchasing a full tanker, it is cheaper for the delivery company to send it out.

that is a fabulous idea - im going to pass this over to my folks cos they could easily do this.

MG, what's the secret to selling books ?. I've been trying for a year, and have sold the grand total of 5.

patman99 - that is one of the best questions i've never been able to answer!!

i don't know! i mean i know my books used to sell after trainings, and that they were always well received, and that they were used by kids and adults to great success................. but it sudddenly struck me, that no-one here had ever seen me train or had physically even seen the books - so i'm not exactly sure what made people pm me to buy one.

i know that now peeps are contacting me to re-order for friends and family with kids, buying in advance for christmas, buying a student version after buying the business one, gifting to others, buying for kids school, buying for homeschool networks etc - so the one thing i think i am happy with is their quality.

so (in the interests of research for those of us - and there are a fair few of us - who are going to be selling stuff or services in the future) ...................... what is it that made you buy?

a serious question i think, but one if answerred would really help others on here to move forward with their jewellery, books, nlp, hypno, life coaching, writing, floristry, dog-coaching, cup-cake delivery, chaperoning (:D). woohooo!!!! we are a talented lot:j

So what pearls of wisdom can you toss our way??

  • I bought it because I want to pass my exams first time - and anything that helps is (in my eyes) an investment.

MG come with good credentials (5 times champ etc) so she must be good at what she does etc..

    But fundamentally, it's a risk ;)

Jewellery and stuff is easier, because there are photos, but people are popping on here saying the book is fab etc, and that's what you go on more than anything else I think...

Hope this is what you were after x

I'm not finding selling my jewellery very easy. so i must not be either very good at my designs or a terrible photographer or both. or generally my jewellery is rubbish lol.

There's massive competition in the market you've chosen...

You need to find a Unique Selling Point... (I sound like a teacher, sorry)

Is there anything which makes your product stand out over the others? You need to find it, and make it stand out.

I have no doubt that the quality is good.. is the price right, do you market it in the right places, is your range of products right...

You need to find the thing which makes people say "I want that!"

No doubt you will get suggestions on here :) x

I have a violin that you are welcome to if it is the right size. It is in storage at home (AKA in the garage surrounded by boxes) and it belonged to my stepbrother (who is 25 years younger than me, so it is unlikely to be full size, and am sure it is bigger than half size) and is just sat there in its case gathering dust.

I will check it out when I get home, and will let you know.

that would be fab hypno - you are a woman of many resources:D

  • I think people buy from people...if that makes sense? Not really great at explaining things, but MG has given us a glimps of her life through this thread, and that makes us relate to her. I bought the book, not because i needed it (not studying or anything) but because it was a way i could offer my support in a practical way. However, i do know people who come into work specifically wanting to see a particular person, because they've built up a relationship and therefore trust them.
