@hypno I agree with you, of course it's possible but you say it's taken you 3 years (that's pretty amazing:T) but 50 days:eek: I just can't understand how somebody can go from benefits to £100 or so an hour in 50 days. But if it is possible I'd really like to know how.
QUOTE]
OK.......I can't pretend it happened in 50 days, because I didn't have Mr Big mentoring me......but I reckon I did it in the 150 days he usually dictates in his challenges.....
If you go back to my earlier diaries, and read through the second instalment, you will see that from December 2007 to May 2008, I reckon I DID increase my total income fourfold......it took a series of big decisions and work-related changes, but I did it.
Since then, it has doubled again.....so, granted it is a slower rate of increase, so I obviously need to speed things up again, but basically, I am just saying don't count yourself out of the challenge just because the numbers are scarily high!
It can be done, and I am very interested to see what Mr Big has in store for everyone.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Having laughed hysterically, and taken delivery of the order from Mr Tesco-man (my groceries are strewn across my hallway at the moment!) I have thought about this seriously.
I am soooo in.

That will just involve some thinking outside the box, I am sure. It will be workable if MG wants it to be.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
This is quite tricky for me - based on my income now, my hourly rate on the equation above for the challenge is £156.....
However, taking myself back 3 years, if I had done the same equation back then, I reckon that by now, I would be looking at having achieved the target set at that time (if that makes sense).
So, I suppose what I am saying is that although it is easy to say it can't be possible, of course it is - I made changes in my working life (big changes, granted) and increased my income several fold......
The question is, can I increase it again by as much from a much much higher base.....?
Good evening pals (I might turn out to be secretly American after all),
I am using Hypno's message as a starting point tonight because she is spot on. This is the spirit - except that, Hypno, I think you can do it again.
I did the calculation (took some doing after a sleepless night last night and examining in Cardiff today) but done. My hourly rate looks obscene at first - let say it is over £200. But not scary. Why? Because this is only a bit more than my employer charges for my time except that I don't see much of it (see my post on selling your labour on my thread). When I do consultancy I charge less than my target hourly rate but the difference probably is not hard to reconcile. I know that the top guns in my field charge 75,000 euro for a key note address.
So the problem is not what the amount is but how to get there. Solutions and problems guys...
MG, it can be done and probably easier and much faster than you think.
Now I would like to tell you something interesting. Sometime ago, again on my thread I tried to work out how much is 'my enough'. Came up with £140,000 over the next year. The difference between what we bring in and the quadruple is about that. Do we believe in coincidence?
Keep well, keep calm and ask the right questions. 'Can I double it again?' should become 'How can I double it again?'; 'nobody will pay me that much?' should become 'how would people pay me that much?'

Childcare can be bartered for - I've done it, carrot cakes/wine from the scary cupboard under the stairs for a night's babysitting
When the chips are down, it's amazing how much practical help you can generally call upon. If I wasn't near Brighton, DD and I would come and play with DD and swap it for babysitting when I was out creating my £140/hour, lol.0 -
How glorious, to think of Mr Big sat there pressing F5.
I would like to hope that whilst some of us may not manage to hit the targets we are setting, it opens our minds to new possibilities and more importantly that we recognise and seize opportunities when they arise.
I'm self employed and I have realised that to gain more custom, I have to advertise my shop more and to target the correct market.
But, being the Queen of Procrastination, I've still not calculated my PSB and I'll now have to look at my accounts to get a starting figure so I can calculate an hourly rate.
Please, someone kick me.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

the baby is now 2 - and in his own room (yipee!!!!) and even better, he's weaned.
i think if i had to travel to do some work my mum would catch the kids for a while - after that then i guess paid for childcare would have to be the way to go - but at least by then i would have some money.
at least its not childcare 9 -5 for 5 days a week i will be looking for, so theres a blessing.

Childcare arrangements? I am thinking that we live all over England and if she has keynote speeches anywhere nearby, then there is a clutch of MSE aunty's who could possible offer a solution..
Although if you introduced me as Aunty Bob, i will get some funny looks:D:rotfl::rotfl:

Exactly, and that is very empowering and exciting.....
Remember, that there will be an element of trial and error, and that sometimes there will be an element of :wall: but we are all well used to that sort of thing with the debt free journeys we are on, so we are well placed to deal with whatever is thrown at us, and have the ability to succeed at itSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground.
