Not sure I have time for reading hypno's diary, I want to but I've spent the last 2 hours on here earning £0 an hour but the positive energy is so uplifting:)

No, don't read them.......it just talks about putting off housework!!!

You could always just read the first post in each one - that sort of summarises the position on each chapter, but unless you find yourself in traction for 6 weeks with nothing else that you can possibly do, I am sure that you have far more productive things that you can be getting on with!!

i think i'm going to be of those who (as Mr Big put it) :o takes a sedate passage through the exercises. I have procrastinated at starting to de-clutter for months.... you could say years .... but i have won on ebay a round dining table :T, something i have wanted for a few years. Now i have won it, i HAVE to de-clutter to make space for it! :o

  • I love the way real life interrupts all of this high thinking. Kitten was persuaded that broccoli was not a treat for him (though he enjoyed playing with it for a time!) and then I decided to put on some hip hop to put the groceries away to. My shuffle function came up with Kanye West "Golddigga". I have to say, I giggled! I am not a goldidgga in his sense of the term, but we are all digging for our own gold, aren't we. Or am I stretching the metaphor a bit too much?!

  • I have just set my [STRIKE]100[/STRIKE] 465 or so day challenge... pay off 5% of newly categorised debt by 31/12/2011.

It's a small start... but from little acorns, great oaks grow.

I'll babysit if you're in Plymouth... they sound like lovely children, so it will be a pleasure ;) x

    OK, I am officially a dunce :o

I doubled my salary (quadruple is too scary for me) and did the "math" but ended up with less than I earn now! Why am I so stupid???

Please could someone explain in simple terms (how embarrassing)

Mac, have you followed MG's figures on the blog?

You should come up with an hourly rate.

Could explain why you are in debt in the first place :p

So,.......take your current income per annum. Multiply this by 1.1

Then double it, (if you are not brave enough to quadruble it).

Having worked out how many weeks you want to work (say 44) and how many hours a week (say 30)......

take the doubled up salary number, divide it by 44 and then divide it again by 30 (or whatever your figures are) to give your desired hourly rate.

It should be at least double your current hourly rate.

  • OK ;)

Imagine your monthly figure is £1000. Now multiply by twelve to get annual. and then double and double again.

Divide by 36 (or by required no of week)

And divide by 30 (or by chosen no of hours)

    so (£12000x2x2)/36/30 = £44.44.

    is that ok? x

Yes, got it in bl0ody 1 hypno - as usual :D

Takes me back to maths 'O' level "If John's Dad is 32 when John is 7, how old is the budgie on the next door neighbour's next birthday?" What?!

Well, I've worked it out and guess what? I'll be earning exactly the same as Miss Fancypants Stockbroker herself! :rotfl:

Not bad for a thicko eh?! ;)
