Hi MG and everyone - my book arrived today many thanks, am looking forward to having a read over the weekend. I've been a lurker on this thread for a while, it was mentioned by some MFWers so I came for a look. But everything seems to have gone supersonic in the last couple of weeks so I guess I came to look at the right time ;).

I know I have some difficulties with pricing my services [that doesn't sound right] but I'm self employed and have struggled to put monetary value at the right level onto what I do. I'm proud though that I can earn enough to pay my share of the bills and mortgage etc from my own skills and knowledge but I have a way to go in getting it right.

I think the challenge would be good for me in sorting out some of my ambivalence so I'll make the time to join in soon.

Am disgusted with the way you were treated re benefit forms - that guy is on such a power trip but it will bit him on the bum one day. Glad to hear you decided to stick with the challenge and didn't doubt that you would :D.

That will just involve some thinking outside the box, I am sure. It will be workable if MG wants it to be.

And ladies that is why Hypno is as amazing as she is.

Just dropping by to say hello, I used mind maps in work today and it was LOVELY.

worked so well, especially when I had a headache and felt just awful. They loved it.

I haven't worked out the money thing. It scares me to be honest.

Lets get Friday out of the way first.

    so Glad you Stuck MG

    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Well I have been doing some thinking and some researching and now I am going to bed don't expect to sleep just mulling over ideas in my head.

My initial response to this challenge was OMG and when I worked the figures out I thought no way I just don't have the skills or talent to earn that much - but I have now decided nothing ventured nothing gained - why shouldn't I be able to do this - so I am going to give it a go - more research tomorrow and then I will have to take the first step - and as Hypno said it might not be the first idea or the first attempt that works but it will certainly be the last one :D and what is more certain if I don't try then it will definitely not work.

So count me in Mr. Big

hi MG Sorry the CTC person was soo rude - I agree about complaining to your mp it will get your claim dealt with faster... what will be interesting is if as we hope by the end of say 50 days you are on a solid earning track again - CTC becomes superfluous and you have avoided an overpayment...

I appreciate tho it is not easy living wondering where the pennies are going to come from, it does sound like this will in the big picture turn out to be a cash flow problem rather than something bigger...

Have you ever read a book called Top to Toe by Nicky Hambleton Jones
    51irMKriTTL._AA115_.jpg
She went from being made redundant 4 times in a couple of years to having to rent her house out and sleep on friends floors for a year to by the next year being a TV producer... Full of lots of pretty pictures and small amounts of writing. She recommended Suzy Greaves (Big leap coaching) her original life coach who got her to do a couple of letters one from the future explaining what it now looked like 5 years hence and visualising all the positive things around her in great detail and telling herself to press through the temporary problems now as it would all be worth it... She got what she visualised within 2 years! She also mentioned writing a letter to your past self, forgiving yourself, letting go of things and negative feelings and just accepting yourself and that what has happened in the past has helped make you what you are today... in a good way...

I've done that exercise, it definitely helped me... may also help you.... Good luck and hugs!

A couple of other little thoughts... Many of us have managed to overturn limiting beliefs in the past that were massive

"I am no good at budgeting"
"I don't earn enough to make a dent in our debts etc"
When I joined MSE we were overspending by £1k a month - within 3 months we were paying down our debt by £1K a month and no longer adding to it... My second year of MSE I was in and out of work and earned a third of what I had the previous year and we still managed to pay down our debts by at least minimum amounts... Now I am back in work but probably at 2/3 of my previous income but because of favourable interest rates on our mortgage are now back able to pay £1K off our debts a month... When I first joined that was like a fantasy or a pipe dream, now it is just normal.

Similarly when I first found the £10 a day challenge I thought it was completely impossible - but in year 1 and 2 I pretty much achieved it... I've put less effort into that recently as it perhaps hasn't been as essential but it demonstrates the principle that things often seem impossible until an expert or more exprience person breaks it down for us and shows us how it can be achieved....

Good luck to each of us !
