Went to my local- empty shelves so I thought I'd try a really big one a bit further away. Tried doing 3 at self scan and it was still working so I went back and took the last 60 off the shelves and about 38 quids worth of shopping. Thought I'd been rumbled at self scan checkout but it turns out they only came over to help me enter multiple quantities quicker! So I got £75 worth of food for £2.79! The great thing is, I use chopped tomatoes a lot anyway as I'm veggie!
I'm so grateful for this at the moment as my car has been a bit of a money pit recently!
    Thanks so much op! :D

if there had been more on the shelves, I wouldn't have taken them, I went in there intending to get a max of 60 which I knew would cover a weeks shopping for me and my 2 boys.
July- coconut body shop body butter, pom bear football, mini johnsons lotion, Sally Hansen nail treatments

What is wrong with some MSE'ers? When something like this comes up, if we all took advantage of it in a SENSIBLE way then there'd be enough stock for everyone to benefit and it's much more likely to be unnoticed by the stores.

Instead, some people decide they're going to be completely selfish and take all the stock which leaves none for others and alerts the shop. That shop then alerts others and pretty soon no-one else can benefit.

I mean, come on, some of you have bought over 100 cartons and then joke that you don't know what to do with them all - how selfish can you get?

    Rant over.

And before you ask, yes I have just been to Tesco and I bought 6 cartons, despite there being many more on the shelf.

    stop moaning

as long as the tomatoes are not wasted what's the problem? look how many people have read this thread? do you honestly think everyone's going to buy 3 cartons when they can potentially get free food for themselves and their families

I feel left out - the perishing thing didn't work for me yesterday (thought it might be cos the CA scanned my 6 in one go), tried again today on the SS and it STILL doesn't work!!! I should be happy with my buy1 get 2 free bargain - but I'm not!
