You were lucky. They altered my tariff for no discernible reason and after 4 months of phone calls and emails I left them since they had broken the terms of the contract.
Yeah... lucky that time. If you read my thread on here you'll see they screwed me over enough recently to make me leave them.
The money thing was a simple human error though, probably why the fixed it quickly.0 -
Fine, suppose you won't be logging into his account either then to cancel the DD?
You just rang and used his details to try to get the matter sorted, so what is the difference?
I rang and gave them his number and asked them to call him, nothing else.
Anyway, he eventually got the international number to work and they have said they will sort it out..... HmmmKavanne

bf texted and said his bill is still showing as 550 (checked on his friend's laptop) so he's sent them an e-mail enquiry now asking how long it's going to be and informing them he will be claiming any charges for the failed direct debit back from O2.Kavanne

The deposit is non refundedable anyway, basically it is credited to your account in a few months and so you wont have to pay many bills for a bit due to credit on contract then it goes back to normal.
Personally i would not cancel the DD as it can cause problems with the operator.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Joint bank account, joint debit collectors no doubt later.0
