Blimey, someone remind me NOT to try and figure out the mortgage/pensions/savings ever again!!! Just spent 2 hours trying to figure out what we are doing and where and its blimin crazy. We have little bits all over and they need sorting. Have gotten all the paperwork in order and have told DH we need to see an IFA.

On the plus side I have called the mortgage provider and increased our monthly dd. Its only by £16 which is what i pay for the BG homecare package that i am cancelling. i figure i am used to the money going out and i need to put on something useful. I used one of the overpayment calcs on here and have worked out tha overpaying just £16pm will save us 1.5 years and £6kish!!!!!!!!!!

Now I really have to get my act together and try to pay off a bit more sometime!

Morning all:hello: Not long up as oh gave me a lie in this morning as lo was bad through the night!

He has hoovered, done dishes and put on 2 loads of washing! whats he after then?:rotfl:

Ds1 was at dentist yesterday as he has decay in his tooth and was making him very sore! he had a temp filling put in so off to dentist at 3.30 today to get a proper filling.

Thought his teeth were fine but obv not, he lost a lot of teeth when he was 2 just before he was diagnosed with his diabetes, they were in a bad way so had to come out.

Dentist said he has soft teeth so will see what is happening when we go down later today:confused:

On the swimming topic none of my kids can swim as i have never got round to it, although i think the school do lessons for ds1 for when he goes back for the new term.

I cant swim either as i did not have a good swimming teacher at school! will have to start lessons though.

Going to make the weetabix cake today that everyone is talking about, hope it tastes as good as you say:j

SOMO1 - try "spirit of salts" you buy it from the chemist - be very careful with it though - but it really does the trick on very very grubby toilets!

    Morning everyone (just):D

Lovely wet stuff outside (well we did all want some for the gardens didnt we?)

Had a very interesting journey to work - got to station and a group of spanish tourists were lurking by ticket machine - they started talking in their bestest english - then one asked if i spoke spanish - when I said yes a little, they were overjoyed! Well I couldnt remember all of my spanish (not using it you forget certain bits) well I managed to sort them out their travelcards for them! and have a chat - they were from s.america and on a tour of a few countries, this being their last day (of 3) in london. Some of them were going to Windsor today. I was late for work, but it was really nice/fun! makes me want to go on a refresher course now to remember the bits i missed.:D

    Enjoy your monday everyone!
  • hello everyone.

I'm enjoying a lovely quite day. I can't really get on with much. I still have a fair old bit of holiday washing to do, but no space on the airers, too miserable for the line, and no way on earth i'm using the TD. Also can't make much progress without the DH being present as i have been having a few dizzy spells, so no ladder climbing for me i'm afraid. I might get my cross stitch out. ;)

I for one am really pleased the temperatures dropped. I'm sure Rchdapp is as well. It has made the garden go a bit bonkers, but apart from the weeding i did the other day, again i need DH to mow and tree prune.

I think i may have to have a shopping trip this week as i have my BIL and grandads birthday to get presents for, and also 5 september birthdays and 2 in october. I might as well go and get the lot of them done now in the hols, as i won't want to do it when i'm back at work. Why do most birthdays fall in the same quarter? I won't have any then unitl february.

I really haven't anything exciting or OS to report, so i may just go and get on with doing very little. Hopefully DH will be home early tonight with the new car, and we can have an early tea.

    Hello One and All

Back at the dreaded world of work. I'm now very hard up, as the cheque for my sister's move has been paid in, so all my money has gone to help her out. Should hopefully get it back at the end of the week, but still very scary

Went to the theatre last night, which was really good fun. Got three more trips to look forward to in the next week ((all free)):money:

Also Airbourne this week in Eastbourne, which will be great fun as always. Four days out of the office. Purpleprincess if you're around let me know!!

We're chocka with boxes right now, owing to sis's move. Mum and I are going to car boot at some point. Had to talk her into it mind, she just wanted to bin it all:eek:

    Hope everyone's fabbo!!!

  • Hi everyone,

Last time I posted we were off to France - well it never happened. We were due to stay with a friend and her parents and 24 hrs before we went her father dropped down dead very suddenly. So obviously the holiday had to be cancelled, we got a last minute ferry and had a week at my Mum's.

To be fair we had a great week and I'm really glad we weren't trying to fly home this weekend, so maybe it was for the best for us but obviously not for our friend and her family. The kids were gutted though  - their first time abroad and I ended up in Cumbria with all our spending money in euros!!!!

Anyway back home now - trying to get the flightss refunded via the travel insurance - could be a long battle. How do you ask a bereaved family for a copy of the death certificate??

Planning to do a load of baking today - we had some great meals out on hols but it's nice to get back to OS

    Hiya everyone :hello:

Am sat here in my new business suit and heels. Very strange after years of either jeans and t-shirts or uniforms :D Went off into town this morning to see bank about new account and do a few more business related errands. I probably didn't need to wear the new suit but I'm starting as I mean to go on and if I slob around in my jeans, then I'll not even give myself the right image :)

Anyway, popped in to see an old friend on the way back and had a coffee and a catch up. It's been 12 months since we saw each other and in that time they've massively extended their house and are adopting an 11 yo girl  (they already have 3 kids of their own)

Now I'm home again and Mr TM has just left to go on a work related course - he'll be back on Thursday evening. So, the suit will come off in a minute and I'll start the usual round of cleaning and laundry. We go away on Saturday :j :j so I'd best start getting things sorted.

Hope you have a good day and ((hugs)) to those in need. Oh, and those asking after MATH - he'll be away at the coast for the 6 weeks summer break, eating chips and wearing a knotted hanky on his head. :D (I've only skimmed the thread so I may have already missed someone having answered this)

    See ya later

Although could meet for a coffee/cold drink (depending on weather!!) one lunchtime, Thursday or Friday?
