Good Morning dawn2dusk, ageandjo, kazonline, penny-pincher, amanda666, kiwichick, elona, twink and all to follow :j
I've just had my bath and washed my hair, DD and DH are downstairs having breakfast - DD and I are leaving to look after my Dad in 3/4 hour. I'm going armed with stardrops :rotfl: Any advice on a seriously stained, limescaled toilet - I'm determined to make his loo like new - should I pack my bicarb and vinegar too? DD and I are going to chop some veggies for him and put in pots in the fridge - enough for a couple of days, do some food shopping, clean his bathroom, run the hoover around, give a quick dust and do some washing for him - hopefully there will be some spare time so I can take DD to the museum (free of course)
Anyway have a great day everyone - byeeSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -

Morning all:wave:
Chucking it down here and quite nippy but resisting the urge to put the heating on, it is only August afterall so an extra jumper is called for.
DH finally put his hand in his pocket and took me out on Friday night for our 16th wedding anniversary:eek: it was on the 4th but could'nt get a sitter for the kids as everyone on their jollies. Went for a lovely meal to a new resturant nearby and then to a little Brewery/pub we know.
Todays the day DS has his big toe nail removed, its been going on so long now took the dressing off yesturday and it looks horrid and is beginning to smell rank!!! DH finishing work at lunch time as i don't fancy being in the room when they remove it, will just be there for the numbing bit.
Anyway must get my act together as Breakfasts need making, WM to be put on and beds to be made.
Have a great day and take care

Morning everyone :hello:
A belated welcome from me to dawntodusk!
Elona - a belated happy birthday!
Well, it's back to normal for OH and I! He's gone off to work, not wanting to, and I've got a stack of thank you letters to write.... I wrote 5 last night, which isn't even scratching the surface. Everyone has been SO incredibly generous towards our wedding that it was really quite overwhelming. I've had a good old blub on more than one occasion!
Our wedding day was fantastic and there were loads of people waiting outside the church when I arrived there! I'd walked - how OS is that?! - and had loads of people waving and cheering; I almost felt like a royal princess.
I'll pop some photos on here when we get them e-mailed. I was going to leave another photo on here now, but I can't seem to get it uploaded onto photobucket. Anyone know of another free-photo hosting site?
We had a lovely holiday in Rome and then Tuscany. Plenty of good food and wine!
We arrived back safely on Friday, then on Saturday we had another wedding to go to - the wedding of an old school friend. It was in Norfolk and it tipped it down!!!
PP - I'm going to see the "Spanish Riding School" at the NEC on 25th November with my mum! I may well pop into the Good Food Show, as the last time I went was when I was working in the food industry and it was a bit like a busman's holiday.......... should be more enjoyable this time.
Bye for now

Good morning all
Hope you all had a good weekend, I haven't looked at the weekend daily threads yet, so have no idea. But I know if I look at those first there will be another couple of dozen posts on here - and I'm bound to find a few extras by the time I finish typing this as it is!
On Saturday I had this great idea, to get the tumble drier out of the spare bedroom & put it in the kitchen above the washing machine. This entailed relocating the contents of the kitchen cupboards, removing one wall unit & painting the resulting space on the wall. You can guess how thrilled DH was with all that!!!! Still, he did do the removing & painting part of the proceedings, but has been muttering about lack of worktop space ever since!
But I have decluttered a load of stuff, and have also got out a very old tea service which my grandma gave me a couple of years ago when she thought she was on her last legs. (she recovered & is now 97 & going fairly strong!) It was a wedding present - they were married in 1931. Anyway, it had been in a box in the back of my wardrobe & now I have made space for it in a cupboard in the dining room, so it can be used; much better than sitting cluttering up my wardrobe. And if bits get broken? well, it's not a valuable antique, and I'd rather use pretty things that remind me of special people than hide them away for ever.
Have a good day!0 -
morning all
Last day of my break, back to w**k tomorrow... had a lovely lazy weekend now got to get going. Gonna blitz the house this morning (OH is still in bed) then we're off down into town to do a couple of things with the bank and go to Argos to get a clothes drier (I'm fed up with things hanging over every door!). My Dad gave me some Argos vouchers that he got from my gran (his MIL) a couple of years ago.

Morning all
A mixed weekend for us, had a lovely time shopping, got some christmas shopping done whilst DD's are staying with my parents. Had a trip to a big primark and stocked up on new pj's, socks and winter clothes for them too.
The main downfall of the weekend was the really naff customer service we received in the hotel we went to for our anniversary - the hotel itself was lovely - very pretty, fabulously clean and tidy but it was just a complete nightmare, from them not receiving the booking to undercooked food to the head waitress throwing paperwork on our table whilst we had breakfast.....and of course not a manager in sight to complain to. I've given them until 9.30am to phone me today, then DH will phone them, belive me, they'd much rather deal with me....lol.
House feels empty with no DD's, not working today either so it's very quiet. The upshot is that washing is washing, dishes are done, dried and put away, bed is made, bathroom's had a swish and swipe and the hoovers been out doing it's thing. I'm now all showered and dressed and ready to enjoy a day of peace and quiet.
Lasagne for tea tonight - will try and make 2 so that I can freeze one down for when DH is on holiday in 2 weeks time.

Morning everyone
DH has gone back to work today so its back to reality today!! Got lots to do today - i want to get most things done before tomorrow when Catowen comes round for the day.
On my list today is tidy L/room and D/room, clean kitchen and do a mountain of ironing (which i should have done yesterday but i couldnt be bothered!!).
We had roast Lamb for dinner yesterday (which i bought from the farm shop) and it was absolutely delicious - really melted in your mouth. I will definately be shopping there again. Making lamb curry with the leftovers for tonights tea.
Hope everyone has a good day.
