I know exactly what you mean Snaggles - it is VERY unfair that you have to suffer (finacially) because this kid wasnt watching what he was doing -

Yes, it could have been much worse but it wasnt and its still not fair (stamps feet ;) )

Life sucks sometimes hon but we just have to let it wash over us!!

Thanks ZTD. If it was my car, I'd definitely do that, I drive an old heap anyway (hate driving, don't like cars, and especially don't like spending money on cars :o), but this is hubbys car (sort of our 'family' car), which is relatively new (4 years old) and in really good condition (or it WAS anyway). Can't help feeling a bit gutted.

If either of my kids did something like that, I'd be sat here waiting for a knock on the door.

Have you thought of going to see the boy's parents?

My hubby went to see the lad a few days later to check he was ok, the parents didn't even apologise let alone offer any costs.

I heard about a month ago on radio 2 that a chap who hit and killed a cyclist is now suing the estate of the chap who died. It wasn't his fault but he now has to live with the fact that he has lost his no claims bonus, had to pay his excess, is out of pocket from all of this on top of it not being his fault and all that he has to live with the memory of the accident and the fact that his car killed someone (all be it someone who was at fault). This is why I truly believe that anyone on a bike should have to have insurance.
If the parents don't agree to cough up then go to the small claims court. (It may well be covered on their home insurance policy anyhoo)

    MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.
    2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.
