I'm having a DFW baby!!

I'm booked in at Leeds General. DS was born at Dewsbury, and it wasn't an altogether pleasant experience (nothing specific, just generally not very nice), so I didn't want to go there again. I'm sure you can have good/bad experiences wherever you go though."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

DD2 ws born at LGI Snaggles - I have NOTHING but praise for them - they have ALWAYS been fantastic with us.:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Due on May 6th. Had to have a c-section last time, but I honestly believe that it was because they messed around with me so much, so this time I'm doing it at home where they can't fiddle and poke!
Am a bit nervous really. I joined the flylady thread a couple of weeks ago and now my house is spotless, I really don't want to mess it up!
When's your EDD?0 -
I was born at St James - 2 months prem so good job it was there!
My friend has just given birth at the LGI - she lost her first baby at 6 weeks through SIDS so fingers crossed. I'm thrilled that the baby seems well and healthy and am just hoping things continue to be better for her.CCCS DMP:Feb 07

I'm editing the original list on page 29 as I go along by the way, if anyone does want to see the full list of everything I'm taking to get any ideas for themselves. Thought it would be easier - I'll just pack directly from that list then!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

I'm due on 11th May, so not far from your due date maralum. DS was late, then induced - I'm hoping this one comes a little bit early (actually got my heart set on May 6th funnily enough, because it's the 10th anniversary of the day I met hubby, on holiday in Gran Canaria - yep, holiday romance!)."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

You cant go too far wrong with the Leeds Hospitals!
The LGI has one of the biggest (and best) peadiatric surgical units in the country and deals with many cases from much further afield!! As an example, with DD2 they didnt think they would have an ICU bed available for her and would have to be transfered - there was me thinking Jimmy's!! In fact the next nearest specialist unit would have been Sheffield or Newcastle  My labour was progressing so quickly though they couldn't risk it and found her a bed!!
The Cleft Palate Team (her *other* hiccup) works in kind of the same way and serives a HUGE area - again we were lucky that Leeds is the base for the Yorkshire area!!
Hugs to your friend - I'm sorry for her loss and CONGRATS to the new addition.

Snaggles I breastfed for 10 months and didn't buy one single nursing bra to be honest - I just wore my normal maternity bras and then once my supply settled down and I stopped looking like Jordan I just went for normal underwiring. I didn't know until I held my baby for the first time whether I would breast or bottlefeed - so I had no nursing bras to wear. I know they say you should wear nursing bras, but I understand where you are coming from on the underwiring thing!Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

I've just got a few £5-a-time bras from Avon, in a slightly bigger size.
Edited to say, you did really well breastfeeding for 10 months - I fed DS until about 10 months, but only a couple of feeds a day towards the end. I want to try and get to a year this time if I can, but will have to see what happens."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Nursing and maternity bras are the absolute pits!!! I come from a family of well-endowed females and they just don't have the support I need. DH and I have a code for when I've popped out. He gently whispers "The puppies are out for a walk" and I know to rapidly excuse myself from civilised company for a "re-jig"!0
