Oh my goodness, I'm going to need a suitcase!! I think I'll separate it into two bags - one for during the labour, and one for after the birth. That way, I'll be able to get to the things I need quickly and easily (or rather hubby will).

I'm having lollies snaggles. They keep the mouth moist and make your sick taste slightly less foul (isn't labour fun?).

Tissues for when the blues kick in...or when your family first sees the bab!

You might want some CDs or tapes too. The voice of the local radio DJ made me absolutely furious during my last labour. Smug git.

Tissues - yes, will definitely need those, and had completely forgotten them - thanks!!

I thought about music, but it just annoyed me during my last labour - although someone has donated an MP3 player to us, so I might stick it in, just in case.

Lots and lots of maternity pads and black trousers. After having K I managed to still leak after walking 5m even though I was wearing huge cotton pants and 2 maternity pads!!

Tigtag, I can't imagine what that was like, going through all those operations, I would have gone out of my mind with worry. I'm so glad she's doing well now.

    :)

I had a labour/me bag and a separate bag for baby - so then I cold rummage through mine but if the midwife etc wanted something for the baby when born, she could have looked in the baby bag and wouldn't have to rifle through all my stuff - despite having just been rumaging down below!!:rotfl: It was handy as she didn't but OH did and if he'd had to find it in my bag I think he would have given up!

I'd completely forgotten how much you bleed at first.....just had a flashback to trying to have my first bath and realising the water had turned completely red.....sorry, waaay too much information.....oh god, I'm not looking forward to that, but at least by then the birth will be over and done with!

We're going for a home birth this time, but I'll be packing a bag just in case, so thankyou for sorting this thread snaggles, you're a star.

Thank you Snaggles!! To be honest she took everything in her stride (last op was Nov so she was more aware of what was happening) and was a million times braver than me and OH - she's a champ (and a monster :rotfl: ) Thank you for your thoughts :D

I notice your are in West Yorks (Me 2) - which hospital are you delivering at?
