Providing the money holds out, I'm planning on staying off until mid-January. It seems aaaaages, but I bet it passes really quickly.

I think it's a nice age gap too... but I have to say that i've got 10yr gap!! between DS1 and DS2 and a 5 yr gap between DS2 and DS3.
I hope your feeling better now about your upcoming labour...

Thanks Jet - gosh yes, you HAVE got quite a gap - do they get on well?

I'm alternating between excitement and terror about the labour at the moment, but I'm getting to the stage where any amount of pain would be better than the constant backache, the waddling, the not-fitting-into-any-of-my-clothes. So generally, I'm sort of looking forward to it. :D

That's a nice way of looking at it. I really want to enjoy it more this time round, I just felt too terrified and out of control with my first, which I think is why I'm nervous this time. I've read up on labour a lot more this time, which has been a bit frightening, but I think I will feel better when it happens, because I'll understand what's going on and what my body is doing.

I enjoyed it alot more second time around as I knew more about what was going to happen and also as the midwife was less involved. My first I wasn't able to move of the bed with my second they left me alone until my water's broke and with my third I had him at home and the midwife only just made it about 30 mins from her in the door to me delivering him!!
I am sure you will have a much better labour this time as you and your body know what to do!
