Thanks Kath and Sarah, I'm feeling quite a lot better today thanks, hubby and I seem to be a lot closer than we were during the week, and DS has forgiven me for upsetting him. :o

I suppose I hadn't realised how upset I would feel, or how much the pregnancy hormones would affect me.

Are you trying for another baby then Sarah (or have I just completely misunderstood?!). Good luck if you are. I know exactly what you mean about the leap into the unknown - even though this is my second baby, I still thought 'GULP....what have I done?' when the test was positive.

Thanks again, and hopefully I will be a lot more cheery in a couple of days.

    Love Snaggles xxx

Right, I've had a couple of weeks feeling sorry for myself, but over the last few days I've started to find things a bit easier to cope with. I've had a long chat with my manager at work, and until my maternity leave they have agreed for me to do a much less stressful job - I'd asked about this a while ago (and even offered to take a paycut - eek!), but as I've only got a few weeks to go, they're happy for me to do it but stay on the same pay grade (I LOVE my job!!!)

Babywise, I've managed to save a fortune by going through all the stuff in the loft, and we now have a beautiful cot bed set up (just need a mattress now, which I'm going to buy from Kiddicare unless anyone knows of anywhere cheaper). We also have a cute moses basket, still in perfect condition, and I managed to find the cover and bedding for it at the back of the airing cupboard.

My manager had a baby girl a few months ago, and they have given me some adorable, hardly used newborn clothes, which will save me a fortune. I've also been buying the odd packet of nappies/wipes etc while they've been on special offer, and I've still got DS's pram which has a car-seat attached, so I wont need to buy a new car seat for a couple of months, but have seen one in Argos that's not too expensive and looks good.

Just sold an old computer of hubby's on eBay and got £75, which has added to the baby fund a bit, although our TV blew up a couple of nights ago, so may have to 'let him' ;) buy a new one (but it will be a normal, cheap TV, no LCD or plasma in this household lol!).

So I'm feeling as though I'm ready to go! Just the small matter of waiting another 3 months or so, then the whole 'giving birth' thing (which I have to admit, I'm a bit freaked out about at the moment.....arrgghhhh!).

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better Snaggles. That's great news about less stress at work, and no pay-cut to worry about! You seem to be doing really well at preparing for baby on a budget and hopefully the 3 months will fly past!

Hi Snaggles, glad you're feeling better. What is it with TVs... ours blew up a couple of weeks ago too- that was money I could have done without spending but the thought of maternity leave with not even Philip n Fern for company was too depressing.

You're doing really well with your baby fund- I agree that babies don't have to cost a fortune and I have been thrilled to receive bags of used baby clothes which are just as good as new ones. Good luck with the job situation- your work sounds very considerate.

Thanks, yes work have been great - I think I would have been able to cope at work doing my normal job, but with all the morning sickness, the worry about my Gran, and then the grieving, it just got a bit too much for a while.

I'm hoping the next 3 months will go quickly too. My SPD is getting worse and I'm starting to limp now, which is embarassing (and painful), and it will only get worse as I get bigger. It's odd though, I find it a lot easier to cope with physical pain that I do with worry or stress, so it's not bothering me too much yet. I've had to pack my high heels away though, which I'm gutted about lol!

Well, I'm off to bed to lie awake tossing and turning for 8 hours or so :D - night night xx

Aaaarrgghhh....just been woken up by hubby, who set off to work at 5.30am but then realised his car was breaking down...he's managed to limp home but there's a scary engine warning light thingy coming on (not water, petrol or oil - some other warning light but I'm rubbish with cars).....so we are now waiting for the garage to open so we can phone them. Got a feeling this could wipe out all our baby money...gulp!

Oh well, got a day off today, so it looks like I will be eBaying frantically :o

What colour is the light? Red means critical, Amber not so critical. hope its not too expensive for you. You wont take the car to a Dealer will you? If so, consider seaching for specialists in your area (VW AUDI Specialists for example). They will know the car inside out and it wont anywhere near as expensive. Fingers crossed. Lenny

Snaggles - speak to your midwife re the SPD - she will probably refer you to the physio - they often give you one of those (very unsexy) support belts.
Well, unsexy they may be but there's nowt very sexy about being in constant pain! As i'm sure you don't need to be told:rolleyes:
    Take care,

Cheers Lenny, I'm not sure what colour it was to be honest, hubby didn't say - probably red knowing my luck! Fortunately our local garage are quite reasonable, and specialise in Fords, so if anyone can fix it as cheaply as possible, they can. I'm trying to be philosophical, and say 'Well, if it needs fixing, it will have to be fixed', but......grrrrrrr! :o

Anyway, clouds, silver linings and all that, just spoke to my Mum, who has told me she would like to buy the baby a pram/buggy - with a budget of around £100....woohoo!!

I've seen a nice one in Argos, it's a Mamas and Papas one, and it comes with a foot muff, a rain cover, detachable hood and a changing bag, for £99. I didn't really want to go right to the top end of the budget, but when I mentioned one I'd seen in Babies R Us for £45, she said I should spend more and get something really nice!

And sorry to ramble on......how do my posts always end up so long??? :D...... I've just been to see the midwife and everything is looking good, blood pressure normal (down a bit from last time), bump measuring the right size, water sample (sorry ;)) fine.....I got chance to listen to her heartbeat (nearly cried....damn hormones!) and the midwife had a prod and told me what position she is lying in (hammock-style, across my stomach lol).

So as Gingham Ribbons says 'glass WAY more than half full' today, whatever happens with the car!!!
