Spoon - yes, my colleague was back yesterday. And she's in today as well. But the best news was a ticking off by management for me..... apparently I've clocked in early/out late several times this week, which would mean me working an hour over the max they allow by 5pm today so they're kicking me out at 4pm -- which means I have an extra hour to get ready for going away :T (Currently home on lunch break, but heading back in about 10 mins)

Wow, that's good news - early start to your weekend away - brilliant:T:T. Have a lovely time - and don't worry about DS, he can take care of himself for a couple of days;)

    Hya all

Thanks you so much for all your lovely thoughts and kind wishes for today.

It was a lovely funeral service, a full house. Mind you,
my friend's friends appeared much more upset than her family...but that is a story I won't go into. :silenced:

I am really glad I knew her, and for so long too (over 14 years). She was a great friend and we got on so well, despite the 40 years age-difference, I have missed her the last 2 weeks and no doubt will miss her all the rest of my life, but I will cherish all the lovely memories I have of her.

So now I am back home and fidgeting. It is too hot to work in the garden (26 deg!), so I fancy doing some cross-stitch, but I am happy to stay on here for a little while longer and natter to everyone here.

Delaring another NSD today, making 13 in all now :j

Only two more to go, with 10 days left...think I just might make it :D.

Have a great weekend....don't get sunburnt!!

I was clocked out bang on the dot of 4pm. Uniform is now in the washing machine and - given the weather - it shouldn't take long to dry once it's pegged out, so I should be able to iron both sets before going (I washed the other last night just to be sure of having one to take with me, as it's going to be tight getting back in time for work on Monday!)

Didn't stop to check any Whoopsies as I've no room in the freezer (having juggled things around to fit in the ice-cream for DS) and won't be here to use anything until Monday night. As such, I'm declaring today as NSD #15.

OH and I are off to a larger Mr M tomorrow morning to get bits like bread and milk - and I can see a fight as to who's paying. But I think I'll 'give in gracefully' (after I've waved my discount card), as I've already packed breakfast cereal, fruit juice, tea, coffee, sugar (and the makings of a mushroom risotto in case he fancies that) and am taking up spread and cheese as well. So hopefully tomorrow could be an NSD for me too :D

Another NSD today - which gets us to 8. We seem to be getting the hang of this and it is becoming fun.

So relieved i achieved my 10 NSD's for the month, with managing my 10th today. I'll try to notch up extra NSD's during the last week or so of this month though. Hope all my fellow NSDers have a fabulous weekend!

katholicos: :jwell done for no 9 - you are doing brilliantly - one more to go now!
You are so right, this challenge really does make everyone think about how they spend money - BigMumma deserves your thanks for starting us all off on this. Really pleased it’s helping you out.:)

It certainly is helping, things are pretty tough here and i never would have thought that taking on a challenge such as this would encourage someone so undisciplined as me, but it really works!

3Dogs: I really hope you’re pleased with your new sofa and chair:)

This is my £26 plus £3 commission = £29 sofa and chair - well pleased we are - and so are the dogs -with 3 dogs you don't want to be spending hundreds on furniture!!

Wow 3Dogs, they're brilliant - you wouldn't buy the cushions for £29 normally. Love the colour and they look as though they're in really good condition as well.

    Brilliant bargain there:T:T:T
