You had a brilliant month last month - well over your first target - so don't be too hard on yourself this month. You've had a lot on and a lot of other pressures as well and they're bound to take their toll on you.
Congratulate yourself for the brilliant total of 10 NSDs you've already got - any more is a bonus.
Keep smiling

wot ave I dunn now? she directed me this way and tempted me to join the challenge and after reading what a mad, caring, inspriational bunch you all are how can I resist? :T Hear hear! Oi :smileyhea dis fred n'awl onnnit oi duzz....
Had a chat with DH last night (well I was LOLing at comments you lot had made whilst catching up with the thread and he wanted to know what I was laughing at, so I had to explain myself) as a result he's offered me £5 extra spends for every NSD I manage between now and our holiday in July:T He thinks I won't make it anyway, I sooooo have to prove him wrong! Oooohhh..a micro-Challenge! We'll get you thru it no probs! *tootles on trumpet US cavalry-style to rally the trooops*
....and joining the NSD challenge for me is about keeping myself on the straight and narrow and getting control of what I spend. My thinkings exactly!....
Do my 3 days I've already done pre joining the challenge count or do they start from today?...& count the days from whenever you fancy! We really don't mind...
....we are moving into BF's....then trip to ikeaWe're certainly filling up the social calendar :T [like we ever need an excuse :rotfl:] Can I ask a favour & you pick me up one of those green smoked glass mugs while you're shopping as I still haven't found a replacement for mine & it's at least 75 miles each way for me to the Yellow & Blue Kingdom
....As such I think I'm going to leave DS a few quid in case he needs anything, but I'm taking it out of my purse today...... and if I manage an NSD while I'm away I won't count any shopping he gets against it
(Is thinking that might be stretching the rules, but have seen the suggestion made that people put money to one side on a spend day ready for kids activities/work collections - so perhaps it's a stretch I can get away with !?!?!?)

Agree with Thrifty that this Challenge is a learning curve. It sounds simple doesn't it, to not spend& now we all know the truth. And like others have said, it is by realising the patterns we take & tweaking them to fit that makes all the difference so Good Luck Peeps! We CAN do this!
Oh & Narge......yellow card for you matey!
((HUGS)) for today Keiss..a difficult time but a chance to remember the history you shared x

Awww thanks for the lovely welcome Spoon
Well, as predicted yesterday was a spend day, took DH out for his post exam nosh up, and whilst out I did some quick thinking based on things I'd read some of you do on here. We wasn't far from Mr T so as I was spending anyway... I did well they're doing 725ml sugar-free vimto ("My one weakness") on BOGOF so I stocked up for about the next 3 months which included a couple of bottles to take on our hols as we can't get it where we're going
I've been buying the 1.5L ones at £2.29ish so I got the same amount for £1.20 a go which saved me over £4. I picked up the cat food that I intended to get today from my local Mr A (it was cheaper as well at Mr T), picked up a couple of other bits we needed for the hols all at reduced prices and come out of another budget, and I stuck to my mental list, I was very good for a change, and doing what I did I now don't have to spend today fingers crossed.
We went into the charity shops as well, DH wants some reading matter for the hols and was going to get some books off Amazon, he found 4 for 50p each, paying less for 4 than he would have done for one of the ones he was looking at on online. That came out of his budget though, but he saved himself a packet. So all spending done in one day, I'm going to try to not spend for the next 2 days, always do weekly shop on Sunday, but with what we've got in we'll be fine until Sunday as long as I remember to put the BM on, if I forget then will have to get bread tomorrow! Have a lovely day everyone

Hello herbaholic  you're off to a great start with 3/6, good luck!
((Hugs)) Keiss21, thinking of you today.
Well, I have done terribly this week. Everything has got away from me, I'm completely disorganised and it's having a knock on effect on everything!!
But, I'm giving myself a stern talking to today, writing myself some lists and getting myself back on the path to organisation. I know that I'm not going to reach my target AGAIN this month but if I can achieve 10 then I'll be happy
Right, organisation here I come
Happy Friday everyone :beer:0 -
Managed to get to no 6 this week. 2 more to go. Thanks for the inspiration folks.0

Just didn't see the point in forking out 50p-ish for bread that may sit and dry out for 4 days before it's even opened...... but didn't want to leave DS without toast/butties if he decides he fancies some for the first time in months!!
I've never personally done this 'money out of purse early' thing before
Spoon - yes, my colleague was back yesterday. And she's in today as well. But the best news was a ticking off by management for me..... apparently I've clocked in early/out late several times this week, which would mean me working an hour over the max they allow by 5pm today so they're kicking me out at 4pm -- which means I have an extra hour to get ready for going away :T (Currently home on lunch break, but heading back in about 10 mins)Cheryl0 -
:j:j:j:j:jAnother one bites the dust and no more money spent! Going for a wee end of half term drinkie after school tomorrow so a minimal spend but then off to my olds for the weekend so plan to spend a bit on me ( am leaving kids with dh !!!)

Quick update from me - another one for me on Weds, mega spend day on Thursday:eek:.. so now at the dizzy heights of no 15:j:j:D for the banana. Congrats Spoon for No 15.

In all the jobs I've had (only 3!) I can't remember ever being told off for working too long! Well done. Hope you have a good weekend with OH.
I am claiming NSD 16 early today. DS2 is home with S&D so I've had to take the day off work (DH will earn double the amount I could today so I drew the short smelly straw!). Managed to get all dirty bed gear washed and out on line (heonto DS1's bed as they are in bunks  but luckily not DS1!) Sorry, TMI!
Have a good weekend everyone, the sun is out and I will hopefully be in the garden enjoying it!Life is knowing which bridges to burn and which bridges to build!

Hi everyone,
I'm on NSD 12/16 :j. Would have been 13 but last need we needed margerine from the local shop.
Feeling shattered today. Probably due to doing an extra evening shift at work in the middle of the week plus testing DS ready for his PE GCSE exam which he is sitting as I type this! When I tried to go to sleep my head was full of all the things I'd been testing him on and it took ages to nod off. Anyway, my weekend will start at 10pm when I finish tonight's evening shift! Might have 40 winks in a minute!
The house needs a thorough clean but it's far too sunny for staying inside so I think I'll go and potter in the garden and see if the fresh air wakes me up!
Have a good weekend.Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000
