NSD number 7 for me yesterday. Finished work a bit too early to go straight off for the school run but a bit too late to bother going home. Usually would have had a little browse around the shops and ended up spending at least a tenner, but because of this challenge I didn't even have my purse with me so went to the library instead :A

    CC's at :idea:24/03/10 [STRIKE]£10,677[/STRIKE] £8,619;

Off we went to the auction this morning bright and early - up came the sofa & chair which I knew had a £25 reserve and I actually got them for £26 plus commission - wow the other one that hubbie had liked went for £105 - I was so pleased and we went into the other auction hall and got 6 loganberriy and 6 blackberry bushes (thornless I hasten to add) - I actually spent more on a few plants than I did on the sofa/chair !!!

Now you are thinking, there goes the NSD aren't you - well actually I had forgot to put my card back in my purse when using it for internet banking transfer so I couldn't pay - so we arranged to call in on Friday spending day anyway to pay and collect them so we did not have to pay for them today - sounds good so far - except that our mate was there at the auction too and he bought us teas (twice) so I had to buy some back - this means for the sake of £1 for 2 teas I missed my NSD again

Tomorrow's should be safe though - fingers crossed ashamed0006.gif

:T:T to the sofa - that is a bargain! Never been to an auction, I might have to check one out. I know what you mean about losing NSD's for silly small spends though - I lost one on Sunday for a bottle of cider at the pub, and lost yesterdays because we ran out of milk - how can I be so unorganised?! I think this is how this challenge helps though, these little spends soon add up and I wouldn't have noticed them before.

Am determined that today and tomorrow will both be NSD's, will report back later. Have a good day everyone! xx

By Jove..I think she's got it! [I do so love My Fair Lady :p] The time I have spent wondering where my money went would have allowed me to complete an OU course :o but now I can account for every penny. The days of 'forgetting' the three quid in the paper shop--why? when a paper is around 50p!!--or the spend in the cafe of a garden centre are long gone & have been replaced with clear money choices. It doesn't mean I don't buy things any more--just that more consideration is put into where I choose to spend.

I wouldn't trust myself at an auction; I'm the numpty who'd sneeze at the wrong time & end up the not-so-proud owner of a full sized replica of a Russian summer palace, made from the contents of someone's carpet sweeper :o Another reason why I avoid 3bay like the plague!

I don't believe it... I've caught up! Three days to read this thread inbetween everything else and it's all BigMumma's fault :p, she directed me this way and tempted me to join the challenge and after reading what a mad, caring, inspriational bunch you all are how can I resist?

So I'm in if you'll have me? BM suggested I go for 3 days to finish off the end of the merry month of May but as I've already managed 3 in a row this week I'm going to go for 6 :D and I'll sign up for 14 for June.

Today won't be an NSD for me though my DH is doing his last foundation degree exam this morning and he has the rest of the day off, so when he comes home I'm taking him to the 2 for 1 to celebrate, he's worked really hard the past few months after work and at weekends projecting, studying and revising that I want to give him a treat.

Had a chat with DH last night (well I was LOLing at comments you lot had made whilst catching up with the thread and he wanted to know what I was laughing at, so I had to explain myself) as a result he's offered me £5 extra spends for every NSD I manage between now and our holiday in July:T He thinks I won't make it anyway, I sooooo have to prove him wrong!

I'm counting only money that I spend on groceries, toiletries and hobby stuff as DH pays everything else and dentist trips, clothes etc all have budgets so I don't pay for them. At the end of the day it's me with the impulse spending problem not the budgets or the DH and joining the NSD challenge for me is about keeping myself on the straight and narrow and getting control of what I spend.

All I have to do now is stop buying soap, shower gel, shampoo etc, like it's about to be rationed, because I'm worth it :D

Do my 3 days I've already done pre joining the challenge count or do they start from today?

    Herby x

Almost everyone is doing soooo well at the moment, :T ((((hugs)))) to those struggling.

Well, I didn't go out at all yesterday (except to the garden :D), so NSD number 12 notched up! :j

DEFINITELY shopping today...need to get a few food-bits as well as netting to keep away the pigeons...my poor plants really need to get into the ground!!

Tomorrow is my friend's funeral so I probably won't feeling like doing very much. Wonderful DH is working from home in the morning and will then take me to and from the crematorium. Don't know if there is to be a "do" afterwards or not...we'll see how it goes.

Have a lovely day everyone..looks like the better weather has well and truly arrived!!

Hya Herby, glad you made it over...be warned, we are definitely a bit mad here!! :D

I didn't mention BMF as I thought she might scare you away! (she's lovely really...
    ;).)

Right off to shop...funny how I don't really want to go...but I do NEED to! This could because we have just over £40 to last us to the end of the month on the GC, and I don't want go over my target. So all these challenges, GC and NSD must be doing some good!!

The sooner I go, the sooner I can get back and into the garden...hot here today...22 degrees C already!!. DS2 has come back from running...and is VERY warm and soggy (calm down ladies, he is only 17!) :D

    Will report my spends later.

    Have a great day.
