Sorry to hear that elfen, do take care of yourself. Is the new place you have found nice and in a good location for you, it can be really tough finding somewhere at short notice.
Not a NSD for me (Thursdays never are) but I did manage to get fuel as well today as I was spending anyway.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Just a suggestion here & please feel free to ignore me--I'm used to it
--but perhaps have a look at where & when you are spending, then see if you are trying to include too many unavoidable spends into the mix.
A lot of people would not include postage & packaging for sales as that is paid for by the customer & I don't include fairs or parking for essential appointments, which in my world covers things like job hunting, hospital, commuting, emergency prescriptions..that sort of thing. I do however include petrol, but that is to make sure I remember to fill up while at the supermarket & not have to scrabble along with me knees crossed hoping I make it to the garage when I'm already running late
For an example, if I had been feeling better on Monday [nothing drastic but had to stay close to certain facilities if you get my drift _pale_] I would have taken the opportunity to pick up bits of fresh food that we needed because I knew I was definitely spending on the chiropodist appointment. [As it happened, The Offspring 'sprung' for the milk & loaf that was absolute:j] That would have covered all my predicted spends for the next few days & allowed me some nsds. I've actually bought the birthday cards I know I shall need in the next couple of months & keep a store of general cards for those who warrant a not-so-personal type. I always try to keep a basic first aid kit with pain killers & plasters SIZE=1]& ladies things[/SIZE & use old wives remedies for anything I can as I can still remember when shops weren't on 24hr opening.
I think I'm in a Plan that is kinda working for me, but it has taken time to get here. This Challenge just helps to keep me focused & not "popping to the shops" when I really do not have to. HTH folk & please--any of you--let us know if we can help in any way OK? There is no need to lose faith when we're all here to help one another get thru & the giggles are just an added bonus.
Thanks. I've been skint for years so am used to cutting back; I walked into town and back the other day to save on the bus fare, for example. It's all been essential items really; and I've had costs incurred due to moving house, eg the deposit on the new place, storage costs and removals plus rent on somewhere else paid in advance. This all adds up to a big OUCH!!:eek:0 -

Just looking up some recipes-meesly tsp of this tsp of that. But one saving grace is that breakfast is larger than I have now, so that should fill me up.
Just dining on my last artery busting cheese and onion pasty, thorntons chocolate for pudding. All washed down with some diet coke and a cup of tea. I don't eat like this everyday, but just cramming as much in as possible during my last hours of bad food eating. Poor stomach will think the throat has been cut next week. Oh the hunger, I can feel it now.
LOL - that's the kind of thing I would do if it felt like my last supper! And the more you think 'I can't have...' the more you want it!
I was never hungry when I was following a low cholesterol plan.....which for me is a flipping miracle as I'm a greedy flipper! I didn't follow reciepes but I just omitted or substitued things. I don't remember measuring anything except sat fats.....and that could be a pain but you get into it and before you know it you can smell those pesky sat fats as you walk up and down the supermarket aisles. But there again I love veg so I guess that's how I filled up? I love cheese on pasta - I swapped to LF cheese. Not as nice but you get used to it and its better than nothing. The most difficult thing I found / still find, is eating out and eating at other peoples. When faced with a fabulous menu I can't make the sensible choice. I LOVE MY FOOD. And I can't stipulate to people that when I eat at their house for dinner they serve me a tasty meal that is low in saturated fats.
I don't eat particularly heathily at the moment - not by my standards anyway - but I still won't buy anything that is high in Saturated fat - I just can't put it in my basket. I choose wholemeal instead of white refined. My downfall is the free chocolate at work and eating out too often
Go easy on yourself and perhaps do it in stages? Don't go cold turkey on everything all of a sudden as you'll only crave it more
Oh and a NSD for meeeeeee!!!0 -
Today was technically a NSD as I spent nothing other than the weekly shop money (and I don't count that as its a necessity).
So I am claiming NSD no 4!:j:j
Will defo spend tomorrow though!0 -
