Woohoo
Sorry, not been on for a while....starting to feel better about things now, and not feeling quite so shattered. Thanks again for all your lovely comments and stories.
Still don't know when my friend's funeral is to be - either Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I have been asked if I can cover for a colleague if she is signed off work again next week - on Tuesday and Wednesday...so everything is up in the air at the moment. Oh well, what will be, will be.
Not looking forward to this Friday though...it would have been my Mum's 75th birthday and will no doubt have a long session on the phone with my little sis sometime that day. I do my best to celebrate the day, but my sis gets all morose and depressed about it all, I do my best to cheer her up, but it can be soo hard sometimes.
Still, been picking up a few NSDs, and declaring a total of 7 so far :j, nearly half way and we're not half-way through the month yet!
Should pick up another NDS tomorrow, but expect to buy a bit of food on Friday....and more compost...potting up like crazy!! Have the chillies to do tomorrow...and more sowing of peas and beans...and salad crops too. Thanks goodness I got a new shelving unit at the Malvern show on Saturday, it's more than half-full already!
Right, off to bed for an early night...and no early rise tomorrow!!!

Just a suggestion here & please feel free to ignore me--I'm used to it
--but perhaps have a look at where & when you are spending, then see if you are trying to include too many unavoidable spends into the mix.
A lot of people would not include postage & packaging for sales as that is paid for by the customer & I don't include fairs or parking for essential appointments, which in my world covers things like job hunting, hospital, commuting, emergency prescriptions..that sort of thing. I do however include petrol, but that is to make sure I remember to fill up while at the supermarket & not have to scrabble along with me knees crossed hoping I make it to the garage when I'm already running late
For an example, if I had been feeling better on Monday [nothing drastic but had to stay close to certain facilities if you get my drift _pale_] I would have taken the opportunity to pick up bits of fresh food that we needed because I knew I was definitely spending on the chiropodist appointment. [As it happened, The Offspring 'sprung' for the milk & loaf that was absolute:j] That would have covered all my predicted spends for the next few days & allowed me some nsds. I've actually bought the birthday cards I know I shall need in the next couple of months & keep a store of general cards for those who warrant a not-so-personal type. I always try to keep a basic first aid kit with pain killers & plasters SIZE=1]& ladies things[/SIZE & use old wives remedies for anything I can as I can still remember when shops weren't on 24hr opening.
I think I'm in a Plan that is kinda working for me, but it has taken time to get here. This Challenge just helps to keep me focused & not "popping to the shops" when I really do not have to. HTH folk & please--any of you--let us know if we can help in any way OK? There is no need to lose faith when we're all here to help one another get thru & the giggles are just an added bonus.
Well said BigMumma :AThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

Please forgive me for I have worshipped at the alter of cheesy poofs and granola square today. I spent £1.58
But I also overcame my biggest challenge yet and put back on the shelf (after joining the queue), a pair of £225 shoes that were reduced to £15. You don't know how hard that was for me 1. It's shoes 2. It's reduced shoes.
I Just couldn't do it
:T :T :T :T :T Well done, I am hugely impressed! And if it's any consolation, I eat like a bunny rabbit too - hard to do initially but my mood is soooo much better for it! I do eat a lot of fruits high in sugar though so I don't feel completley hard done by (dates and grapes are my current favourites, but I'm easy).
Picked up unpaid postage itme from RoyalMail yesterday, pregant friend had forgotten to put a stamp on. Given she's a bit pre-occupied as bambino doesn't seem to want to join us, though he was expected on 7th, so I'll let her off the hook! She is blaming her husband. I didn't mention the £1 handling fee though - don't want to get him into more trouble! :rotfl:
Then I tohught I'd do an online shop as I'd ruined my NSD anyway, but it all went to pot and I lost the whole thing when it transferred from mysupermarket to the supermarket of my choice. So I took a strop and refused to play the game any more. Which meant I reverted to the old fashioned mode this evening and took myself off to the actual real, live shop. Just before closing though so no time to be distracted by impulses. Still, it meant today wasn't an NSD either when I was trying so hard to be organised and do it all yesterday.
Have a few things on over the next few days so they are unlikely to be NSDs too.Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55
