well i seem to get responses but when they find out i have back problems and sciatica and walk with a stick -they either just ignore me or use the line our insurance wont cover you
some jobs i have applied for they tell me im too over qualified
i know you probably think im just using this as an excuse but if you could spend a day in my life you would see how cruel life can be
still i live in hope someone nice will take a chance
Well I hope someone does. At least you are trying.0

i do get where your coming from and i know for a lot of people the rejection can often come at a price -Well I hope someone does. At least you are trying.
it can lead to mental health issues such as depression and confidence issues-
i have hope that im currently working towards a BA in LAW with criminology and my plan is to take the law conversion course to make it a qualifing law degree and then to become a barrister .
but for many they lose hope, begin to feel they are useless etc and this is one thing the job centres don't help with

The long term unemployed do not have to fork out for appliances or such because they either rent from private or council who are ultimately responsible for such things. There are places they can go for cheap furniture, beds etc. etc.
If somebody gets made redundant they proabably need more money to initially as some providers charge a fee, ie mobile phone, if you come out of a contract early. The higher rate of JSA would only be for a set time so hopefully the claimant will lower their outgoings in this time to prepare themselves for when the amount reduces. But of course, hopefully they will have found another job before that happens.
What planet do you live on.
I have spent the last thirty years renting from council and housing associations never once have they replaced my cooker and indeed this year they only replaced my shower because we have no other way to wash ourselves. So dont give me rubbish While unemployed for nearly a year my weight increased due to lack of activity no one helps out with the new clothes. Mobile Phone contracts indeed we should be so lucky.
Personally I think everyone needs the same whether you are a pensioner or a child a young person or a person in thier forties whether " Ive worked all my life " or I have never had a job and no one will employ me. No one has more rights than another so stop all this greedy I m better rubbish and lets target the government to supply jobs, a fair equal society a benefits system thats fit for purpose and free education aimed at self development not glorified employment training. Let the employers pay for the training like they used to.0

anyone who thinks we should all be treated the same - live in the same type of house and for no one to be richer or poorer then anyone else should condsider communism

I agree, we all hav equal rights: so why should some one free from encumbrance who has not paid into the system and not fulfilled the responsibilities that go with the rights and opportunities we have in this country be benefited the same as someone else who HAS paid into the system fulfilling their responsibilities...I'd rather the private sector was enabled to provide employment and the government kept to a minimum required to...govern us and private sector.
Rights incur responsibilities: I think those who fulfill their responsibilities should be recognised.0

So are you also disputing that those privately renting don't get these provided for...maybe that is your answer  Rent privately and your LL will have to replace things like the cooker.
If you put on weight, why is that anybody elses fault. It doesn't cost anything to walk and do other exercises.
Mobile phone contracts are a normal expense for those in employment and people are locked into contracts. If made redundant halfway through a contract they have to continue with their payments. But once free to do so they can change to a Pay as you Go.
I couldn't disagree more with your ideals. If that were the case I think there would be many more people choosing not to work and a lot less money available to hand out!!! You want a benefits system that is fit for purpose but in order to get that you need people working. And what incentive would there be for many if work didn't get you the 'nice things in life'.0

Because that's the reality in a lot of areas... a public transport route that isn't a network, but one direct route, that runs at times that don't match the needs of employers.
Most of the jobs I've ever done would be impossible for me to get to using public transport, especially temp jobs. I think temp agencies call me often because I have a car, not because I'm special....
Sorry, PN - just not true. I don't drive so a car would be a bit useless! I get and have always got to jobs by public transport; despite the fact I live in a village.
Getting bored of just taking my 1 bus to all the stops along the route in either direction, I have tried experienting with changing buses/catching trains as well and within an hour and a half (a not impossible commute) I can get almost everwhere within a 20 mile radius. It requires some ingenuity, a good knowledge of bus timetables and a familiarity with online route planners. It probably costs a bit more than driving (or maybe not? when you compare it to all the running costs of a car?) and certainly takes longer.
But there's no way it's impossible. Only a driver who'd never needed to rely on public transport would claim that.
And if the worst comes to the worst, you can always work from home, so no travel costs/time needed, as millions currently do and as newtechnology will enable millions more to do. Set up an ebay business, work online, etc etc - there's loads that can be done if you have the need and the imagination.
After all, you do it yourself. 0 0

not sure what jobs there are completly online but it does sound a good idea-to run a business such as ebay don't you need money - and also with all the problems with ebay i could see this being incredibly risky thing to doSorry, PN - just not true. if you have a job/skills that allow that, millions dont
a hour and a half commute sounds fine,so thats 3 hours travelling plus an 8 hour day(for average)
11 hours,my boys nursery is open 11 hours max.so if i was looking for work that would mean i had no time spare for childcare
if i am late collecting my boy its £35 each time
if it continues he would lose his place0

Huge is a huge diference in public transport further away from city areas/south east. My village has two buses a day....one out, one in (at about 10 am and about 2pm I think). stop is a good 3 miles away. The children in are hamlet at the local state schools are taxied in in the mornings/winters, and walk home/get lifts afternoons.
When I lived in SE I got to the nearest city for my a levels with a god walk and a train. we tried trains and buses when DH did his law conversion at the nearest city here...more often than not it didn't work/was time ineffective. I could drive to nearest city and back home (50 mins ish each way) before the bus had done the one way trip home.0
