do you just ask customer services to locate an xbox and transfer it to your local store? im up in the north of scotland, cant really see all the stores up here being completely sold out!
    I LOVE MSE! :money:
  • When I spoke to the Customer Services about 2 mins ago, they said that due to their only being a handful of the consoles left, they could not transfer them between stores.

I managed to locate an X-Box at 9am this morning, but the staff member flatly refused to take it out of the cabinet and price-check it for me, insisting that it was £99.99. A few minutes later the X-Box disappeared from the cabinet. I've called Customer Services who confirmed that the store did have the X-Box. Customer Services have given me a reference number and asked me to call the store and tell them that if it is there, to save it for me. I've called the store who've said that they've just this minute sold the X-Box, which they didn't. I'm now waiting for the staff member's manager to call me back. Hmmmmmmm.

Have just called CS to try and locate one. Was told, after a whole UK search was done that the only place that had them available was Cardiff and Glasgow.

Explained about the SA refusing to check barcode on actual item and then staff buying them themselves. CS rep was shocked, she said that it is 1st come 1st serve and staff are not allowed to deny/refuse the customer the purchase inorder to reserve/buy it themselves!
I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....

How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!

I thunk I've made you think for a minute!

thanks Ally. I've just located the glasgow store with it but now I've phoned to see if its there and been told its not, that they've not had them in for ages - very apologetic and I suppose I have to take them at their word. Oh well, nothing ventured and all that

But the staff are obviously in a position that when they see a good deal they want they can just do this - and people will be inclined to believe them which means they get away with it.

If is against the terms of their employment contract agreement I'd try getting on to store managers about it and see if you can get a mark against their name/get them sacked. This seems to be happening a lot and I think the people who it's happened to should take the action to try ensure staff in future do not try it on.

If you can *prove* staff refused sale (which I think the staff are relying on you being unable to do) then it was sold minutes later, then present the evidence to the store manager. You never know you may even be given some complimentary boots points to your card as acknowledgement for the trouble caused.

If the staff weren't quick enough or thoughtful enough to find a bargain before you, when they work there, then that's their problem. They shouldn't refuse sale to the general public and hide it behind the counter.

Should've said "right fine then, i'l still buy it at £99" and then when you got to the till see what price it scans at. If he wouldn't let you do that then you should've found the manager straight away.

Looks like you missed out now, take heart in the fact that most of us missed out too!!

True. We live and learn eh? Still, when I called and asked for the store manager, the person that answered the phone wasn't very happy with the SA's attitude and asked for a description of him, which I gave them. Hopefully, if nothing else, at least they will be spoken to about it.
