Are sale items scanning at a lower price as in our local stores the display sel seems a little to dear for some items that are in the sale or is it just me looking for too much of a bargain.

Lots of stores haven't changed the SELs or price tags on the sale products. Get a friendly member of staff to scan the item you're interested in just to make sure.
