Hi I didn't mean to be nasty in any way. What I meant was some people will have seen these PS2's in boots and no doubt some of them will be on Ebay. As you yourself note, when you can get one new for £50 and they easily go for £75 second hand, people will be all too eager to make use of the money making opportunity. And also that if someone was going to buy to sell on, they might rather make £30 on Ebay than £10 here...matthewwoodward wrote:A new ps2 bundle for something like £50 notes, thats a massive saving!
Ebay second hand its like £75++.
And I meant it would be unlikely someone would see a PS2 and think you need one and buy it. Not impossible but unlikely. More chance of someone already having bought one deciding they don't need it and need to offload it

Buy for £50 - sell on Ebay for £75? After you've paid Ebay and Paypal, plus transport costs to and from Boots and to and from the Post Office you will be lucky to make a fiver in profit. Not worth the effort in my opinion. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0

Buying bargains and selling them on is unfortunately a way of life some people lead, sponging off of society's will to pay more for something than they did, while enjoying their entrepreneurial freedom of not being accountable to HM Customs and Revenue for taxes.biglugs wrote:Buy for £50 - sell on Ebay for £75? Ebay makes a lot of people a lot of money and prevents genuine people getting decent bargains.
I can easily give 2 links...
http://www.mandmdirect.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=9846
and now look at the next link. See anything familiar?

I can safetly say I know where *most* of those shirts came from on Ebay and why the Buy it now prices are above the price on mandm. Many of them even steal the picture from the mandm website. What I'd say is mandm are making money selling them at £4.99, why can't anyone on Ebay source the shirts just like mandm did and undercut every single person on Ebay and make money (ok so about £6 taking to account fees). The reason is they are lazy and don't want to pay taxes or commit the full outlay of having a real business.0 -

I couldn't believe it either, I hadn't bothered to look as they normally don't sell them. They were in a small locked cabinet at the back upstairs by the cameras.homer_donut wrote:Thats strange, I was in there the other day and didn't see any (and was looking for GBA or DS bargains!), where was it hiding ??

This is just free market economics at work. You pays your money, you takes your choice. If you're not prepared to shop around further or you need the product immediately, you might well expect to pay more than otherwise. If someone wants to corner the market in a product to resell for a profit they can.
In a utopian society we might all share everything equally and put the community ahead of our own interests, but that's not the way things are.0 -

I live way down in deepest darkest Cornwall and really want a PS2 so this has cuaght my eye.
I have called every store in cornwall, takes ages, and no on has a PS2 bundle left or thought that they even sold it?!?
Does anyone know of a store near them with a PS2 bundle still knocked down to silly low prices?
IF SO, I would have their children if they could buy it for me. I will of course pay you back plus postage to me plus extra for your time.
PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE GUYS.
Any help would be great!

I think it's been established your appeal is unlikely to be successful. Have you seen this offer from toy r us? Console plus three Rayman games for £95 and in stock on website. Not quite as good but not bad:
