HOW TO SPEED UP A SLOW PC OR INFECTED PC. (a mini guide)

Thing is, no-one on this forum has to help anyone, but they do. And people don't have to ask for advice on here, but they do. I would have to suggest that many of the people given help on here would either have had to:-
1. spend an amount equivalent to a small third-world country's debt at a shop
and/or
2. have all their data wiped from their pc without having backed it up anywhere first

if it had not been for this forum. The likes of closed, waddler, et al give excellent advice, free, and have rescued many an ailing pc or laptop, or sorting out networking/wifi issues by being patient and hand-holding many people through the processes required. But it does work both ways, and the friendly techies on here can only help those willing to do a bit of work themselves and put some effort into trying to understand what is being asked of them in order to resolve their problems...

Let's try and keep this forum friendly, folks. Tox makes a very valid point about some of the mega-geek forums where even reasonably competent people can be made to feel like they know less than nothing, just because they haven't written half an operating system single-handed in a dark basement (ok, so that's an exaggeration, but you get the point). The friendliness here is one of it's main strengths, and long may that be the case

Might I just add that advanced systemcare is a free download which does a sort of all in one sweep and repair. You can pay for it to get additional features but the free version does a good job.

I can't see how this one is having used it and seen the proof. By no means as comprehensive as OP but an easy quick fix
