If people want help, they need to answer all the questions posed by people who are trying to help them. However big/bold I make the new thread/commit charge advice (it was in inch high red letters originally), it's still get's ignored, repeatedly - MD was just pointing this out.

Have you followed the advice in your previous thread?

I wasn't aiming my comments at you...personally !!! Just a general feel of the thread.
I amongst others, have tried to follow your advice..but find it difficult...hence the people still needing help !!
I wrote that particular post way back in January..so you had to dig around for it a bit !!
Still having problems with my PC...even though I followed your instructions.
If you read post #4, you will see that I didn't understand the comments that you made. In post #5 (which you had written) it all sounds like gobbledegook !!! Therefore...I am still having problems.
I am not querying your expertise...but talking about...light AV, minimal start up apps etc etc etc doesn't help those of us that are not as technically minded as yourself.
Put things into laymans terms...and we might have a better chance of understanding it and following the advice.
A good teacher is one, that listens to the persons problems understanding instructions....and guides tham through things.
It doesn't matter how big you type the flippin' letters in the sticky...if people are having problems understanding it !!!
When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!

If you look at most threads on the techie forum, the "so called experts" go to extraordinary lengths in their own time to guide people through the gobbledegook, usually ending up in a good conclusion, and much cheaper than going to a shop.

"Post in a new thread", shouldn't be hard to understand.

Posting "I don't understand", doesn't help the teacher - explain what you don't understand in your other thread, and you will undoubtedly be led through the process.

so did you, that was the only thing in inch high letters

If you want to fix your problem, go back to your other thread, post a fresh hijackthis log, a fresh commit charge, and explain what the problem is, and what you don't understand.

I followed up your last post, then you vanished and gave up, as many do. The answer to your question about AVG is in post 30

I'm with you Closed: I really admire your patience. Well done and don't forget all the posts saying how brilliant this thread is.

It is at the top of the thread you are currently reading...but I wasn't asking for help in this thread, again. Merely pointing out that people are having difficulties understanding everything !!

  • SUCH an unfriendly thread !!!
I have just been reading some of the coments..by so called "experts" and it is quite clear..that they really don't want to help at all !

We'll probably have to agree to disagree but I have a completely different perspective to you.

This is probably the friendliest techie forum going. The patience shown towards novice users is unbelievable compared with the hostility that can be encountered on full-on, geek forums.

Go and see for your self the kind of n00b/rtfm insults you can receive elsewhere - it may change your view.

Having seen the incredible amount of their free time that people such as Closed invest here to help people out, I'm not sure where the clarity of your view of unhelpfulness is apparent.
