    Morning all

Best wishes to Winchelsea and your OH.

Spent £3.95 in the C*op yesterday on T-bags and rolls and £4.50 in T*sco on cheese and milk. Not much for £8.45 is it?

I was going to buy a chicken for today but am making a shepherd's pie with reduced lamb mince from the feezer instead. Not very Summery but I will get some salad to go with it. Just thinking that lettuce, tomatoes, spring onions and cucumber will cost nearly as much as a chicken!!. Though this sort of stuff is often reduced in the C*op in the morning so fingers crossed. And it should last a few days.

Can you tell I'm feeling skint!

Anyway I'm going to enjoy this beautiful weather. I've even started a book - I love sitting in the garden reading...much more relaxing than indoors. And it takes my mind off the fact that I have only £7.33 to last 'til next Tuesday!!
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

Oops done very badly this month :( I had another spend in Somerfields on my way home from work on friday (reduced to clear steak pie and garlic bread, as well as snacks/juice for a friend's house party) and then another spend in M&S (went in for milk and then came out with salads!). I've lost my self control this month. Hopefully that will be my last spend for the rest of the month as I now have tonnes of food in. Maybe I should do a storecupboard challange next month!

Not too bad spent 17.58 and shouldn't need to do another shop so will have made my target. ( Have treated myself to two magazines and not included them in my food shop so ma recalcuate with them but still hope to be under budget.)

Have quite a bit in the freezer but more cold weather food eg sausage casserole, chili, curry etc. Store cupboard will need top up soon as low on tuna, sweetcorn, passata etc

    Hi
I had a question a while ago about bread making and Keiss21 said about using dough improver from Lakeland, well I decided to see if I could by it from the Claybrooke Mill direct and I can its £5.95 plus p&p I think that is a bit cheaper than Lakeland. I am trying to cut the amount that I spend on food so every little helps

Thank you all for your good wishes. DH was apparently unsettled overnight (wandering around the ward looking for me, quite agitated), but was given meds at 1am, which sent him to sleep. I visited for nearly 3hrs today, and he was quite calm when I saw him.

Have just got the milk bill, £11.80, a little cheaper than I expected, so that leaves me £13.11 to last 8 days = £1.63 a day. And, of course, I only have myself (and the cat) to feed for a while, so should come out OK.

NSD today, and I made myself a cheap dinner this evening (which I've just typed a screed about and promptly hit the wrong key and lost!) In brief, I had a veggie toad in the hole, tasty, and with enough left for tomorrow.
Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!

Hiya - a week left to go and only about £8 left!!! Oh well, it's my first month and we're all learning... :) I might still squeak it, cos I have a £5 farmfoods voucher that I can use too :D

Winchelsea, sorry to hear about your OH, that must be really tough but good to hear that he seemed calmer when you went to see him :)
