    Hi,

Just an update. Sent letter of acceptance back to HFC yesterday recorded delivery, just checked my account online and they have put the money in my account today. Can't fault them on there response time I expected them to drag it out for at least a fortnight.
Maybe they are starting to get there act together at last.

    Regards

That really is great news Paul well done you!

I called HFC today. I sent their questionnaire back on 7th June they say they received it on 9th June, but it is still being processed and I have to wait for a letter to be sent out (saying what?). I asked if they knew hat the letter says and was told no it is being processed!!!
Now my question is how long do i now have to wait and what would be my next step?

  • Have tried to claim back PPI from HFC through a third party specialist. This started over 3 years ago, completed forms even spoke to the FOS but have not heard anything from any one! Every time I speak to HFC I am told someone will call me back but they never do. Is it worth trying again directly with HFC.
  • Hi there

    Please could someone help.

Me and my partner have been discharged from bankruptcy only this month. An awful year but thankfully it is now all over!

Anyways, I have done some research as to how to claim some PPI against the banks who missold us these. From what I have gathered, we can claim but even though we have been discharged, all the monies that we will possibly get will proceed to the Official Receiver.

I bought a pc from PCWorld, well when I say bought I meant I got it through finance which was with Beneficial Finance. I am not exactly sure when I got my PC but I think it was in 2001. So in 2002, I received a call from Beneficial Finance asking me if I wanted to top up my loan with them, me being only young and stupid at the time said yes. So I went to the bank to finalise my loan and sign my agreement. BUT before I signed I have noticed the person who was selling me the loan was covering some parts of the paperworks ( which I think was the total loan amount). All I saw was the percentage, which was something like 30% or possibly even over.

So do I have a chance to claim some PPI from them and if I did, will the money go the Official Receiver bearing in mind that this was not in the Bankruptcy Petition and the loan with Beneficial Finance was paid for possibly a year or two after I got it???

Could someone please shed some light to this.
    Thanks

    Hi there everyone,

I had to jump in on this thread because I too took out a loan with Beneficial Finance way back when (I think around 2005/6?) and I believe they contacted me after I had bought a laptop from PC World (I really struggle to remember!)

Basically I was using a Lloyds credit card at the time which was gradually escalating out of control (not badly, but I only had a part-time job at the time as I was a student), so I agreed to this loan to help consolidate paying for both the laptop AND pay off the credit card.

The loan has now been paid off for a good couple of years now, but I'm very tempted to get back in touch with them to see if I was mis-sold PPI, as being such a naive student at the time, I'd have agreed to anything! Where can I get a copy of this questionnaire from please? And what if I cannot fill it in very accurately? My memory of this is all a bit hazy.

Many thanks for help in advance!
    Jane :)
