i HAVE COPY nOV 79 AND OCT 78
Sorry Great Oakly no frozen trifle but I'll read them again and see if there are any good 70's recipes it was a special cooking decade. I would ahve been 9 yrs old mid 70's and remeber it well. Mum and Dad had lots of dinner parties amaum always made choc fridge cake!!
Was Robert Carrier 80's cos I have got the whole mag collection. His pavlova works great for me.
Have many very old recipe books and many of them are more user friendly than the modern ones except Nigella and I could go on all night about her choc cloud cake blahblah blah
lol

aw this thread has made me smile!! I used to love reading all my mums Home and Freezer Digest mags, and especially loved the Mary Berry traybake recipes!
My mum used to have a day where she 'cooked for the freezer', and we had loads of tasty treats to eat!
I have always loved reading cooking mags, and used to really enjoy reading her Family Circles, and Good Housekeeping's too. I think GH is a bit rubbish these days tho!0 -
Hopefully someone can help with this! I don't buy magazines but my mum is ill and housebound at the moment and I want to get some for her to read. She doesn't have any specific interests and I don't want to get any of those ones with readers true stories like how their husband tried to kill them or they caught some horrible disease - too depressing!! Can you recommend any magazines that are interesting with happy articles please?0

I get Prima and occasion Essentials, they both have good articles, nice clothes, great rcipes and the photos are always nice. they do have medical sections and sometimes a sad real life story but not every issue. I go back to them now and again too, (I don't throw them out:o) and always enjoy rereading them. I think they are ageless too. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0
