Update...

Ok, joined PruHealth through Quidco and my £115 is now being tracked. It took about 2 weeks to show up as it was originally showing as £0 until I made an 'Enquiry' and now is all ok. Should get paid in a month or 3.

All PruHealth docs received and I popped into Cannons to join. I told them what I should be entitled to and they filled all the forms in, no DD information required, all they asked for was name/address/dob and PruHealth membership number.

Then I got home and called PruHealth, gave them my Cannons membership number and they said membership would be activated in 2/3 working days.

Easy!

Can i just check for those that had already signed up for Pru and Holmes place, did you just contact Holmes Place with your pru details and they automatically gave you the 6 months free offer rather than just their standard £25 a month deal for Pru members?

for those wondering if it is really possible to cancel after 6 months:

I signed up for this about 3 weeks ago and started at the gym this week - £18 a month
I then got a call from the finance department at my work as we get medical insurance are part of the benefits. It turns out the work are moving the employees insurance to Pruhealth and they noticed i had a policy already. I told her why i had the policy so she phoned the guy at Pruhealth and he told her once my 6 months is up, i can cancel that policy and go back on to the work policy - so thats straight from the horses mouth!

Turns out i get half price membership through the work so once my 6 month is up i'll be paying £30 a month sorry to gloat hehe.

just wished i'd noticed the quidco thing before tho! oh well.

In your welcome pack, there should be a number for Holmes Place - an 020 number. Call them, ask for your memebership number then call Pruhealth who will activate the membership - takes about 2 days. You wont receive your membership card for another week or so but you can go down to HOlmes place with your pruhealth card and membership number and they;ll let you in straight away - its that simple!

Yeah but nowhere in my membership pack does it mention the 6 months free offer. There is a section of the book offering the reduced membership terms but no mention of the freebie

is anyone going to the Strand Holmes Place?? I'm off there soon I hope. I've applied and my order is being tracked by Quidco, whilst I await my membership deails from Pru.. £14 per month :-)

i would just like to say to the Original Poster a BIG THANKS for this.
I joined a week ago online, got my card phoned holmes got my no, called pru who then verified my 6 months free gym membership. I went yesterday for a swim, sauna and hydro pool, It was such a nice place, loads better then my old gym and cheaper!! and my quidco is being tracked, so £115 soon.

The offer is on until the 30th for them who have not done it yet. People who are not sure about the 6months free gym, if you apply online via quidco you will not find it, apply anyway get your ref number phone them up and make sure they add it for you, then wait for your card from pru to turn up.

I've heard that Holmes Place are being taken over by virgin Active, does anyone know how this will effect the free 6 month membership?

I've just signed up and now I'm worried!
