i need a kick up the bum today---i am sitting here in a state of complete inactivity--i have been good on my calories so far and have plenty in hand but i could if i had the will power to go to the gym for the 3rd day running(literally)-i have nothing to do at home apart from be here and i have 6 hours til i have to do a solitary lesson--lazy or what!--i lost just a lb last week and i did loads of gym--possibly too much on recounting my calories--and i am sure i am shooting myself in the foot!!--i dont crave any wanton food because i am happy with the diet i have

de1amo could you do something other than go to the gym? maybe a long walk or swimming or something? Just wondering if a change of pace would give you a bit of incentive.

Before we start june's thread is there scope to show percentage of body weight lost--people with more to lose tend to weigh in with bigger figures than people like me who are closer to optimum weight??-eric who is not my biggest fan looses bigger figures and thinks i am doing it all wrong when i loose a smaller amount but a bigger percentage of my weight--a 1lb is the normal amount --big or small people!!!
Not been posting much the last couple of months, been busy.
Another man on the 7lb weight loss threads at last! ;)

Last year February to October I lost 2 st. 9lbs mostly through calorie control. I'll be 40 in 3 weeks time so not hugely different in age.
I certainly didn't loose the same amount every month and the last couple of months it was very much a plane coming into land rather than dropping from the sky - the last few pounds came off at 2 to 3 a month despite the same eating and exercise habits. That's just the way it works, go to be patient and wait it out I'm afraid. In fact I had trouble stopping the weight loss and went a couple of lbs under before getting it right, though it's easy to gain a few again.
Noted your comment about carbs and evenings earlier. I believe that it doesn't really make any difference what time of day you have food or even what you have so long as the diet has what you need. It's all about energy in vs. energy out. It is easier if you can have more earlier in the day though. Nothing wrong with carbs IMO, helps to keep blood sugar level steady in the day avoiding hunger.

    banwa,
    RE: CHOCOLATE
In my opinion the best way to deal with chocolate is... have some!
Enforce the mental discipline of having just 2 to 4 squares 50 to 100 calories worth and making it fit in your budget and walking away from the rest chocolate bar until another day.
Tough to do at first but your mind does get used to doing it and it gets easier.
It is all in the mind ;) and this is still what I do now. 4 squares of chocolate a day.

i think your right dragoness--i have decided to go sit out on the balcony and watch the boats--its the trouble with flats you cant just go out in the garden and potter!--i will give the gym a rest today -i will walk to my work and get a lift home with Mrs De later- its a lovely day for a stroll along the seafront and i might just stop for a quick work out on one of the 'stations' !-i enjoy the gym but sometimes i get tired of the sweatiness!--it has an inside and outside pool but the external pool isnt quite open but will go to that in future on bored days!-i am not a fan of the internal pool.

Welcome banwa! You are just the same as me weightwise (I weighed the same when I met my OH and am now 10st and have 32% body fat, eek!). Can't believe you work in a chocolate factory, double eek!!! And the person who was cheeky to you so deserved a slap.

Thanks Tara, looks like you have had plenty of success so far which is very encouraging for me. It's good to have someone at about the same stage as you. :T

    And double eek indeed...

Think I will struggle to lose more than 4 lbs for May, but will keep trying til the end ! My life seems to be a series of 2 steps forward one step back (or worse). I am generally quite good during the week, but at weekends I go totally mad and undo all the hard work.Lately the weekend starts on Thursday and finishes on Sunday night :rotfl:.Am currently a member of WW but am also thinking of joining Tesco Diets - they are recommending the low carb diet for me - does anyone have any experience of Tesco Diets? Well done to all the losers, I am impressed by everyone's focus and dedication to the cause :A. Hope you manage to get some good quality sleep soon Dragon xxx
