LE3 ... Has anyone mentioned mortgage protection ? I think a lot of lenders like to know that your gonna be able to cover your outgoings if your income stops ?
I'm aware of mortgage protection - it's not a condition of my mortgage though :)

    Exchange didn't happen today :(

We made the CHAPS transfer at 9:30am, but the solicitor still hasn't received it yet. Looking on our online banking account, the sum has been deducted from our account but is highlights in blue which means it hasn't cleared yet. There was me thinking Chaps was a same day transaction!!!

Also, our solicitor has been unable to contact the sellers solicitor today either. So at least it looks like its the sellers fault rather than us.

    Hopefully Monday.

All we managed to do today, was paint a front room. This literally is a first time in many ways for us. We got the paint and sundries after we got the keys, and thought we could do most of the rooms today!! :rotfl:

Good luck to everyone else, and sorry to hear some of you havent exchanged this week as you hoped, fingers crossed you all have some good news next week!

Whoo Hoo to hairdye & lavalicious!

I am currently in the middle of packing & *really* stressing about how many boxes are accumulating in the living room! Seriously, I can't believe I have SO MUCH STUFF and I have no idea how it's all going to fit in the new place .. I suppose when I realise thet 4 full bookcases = a LOT of books = a LOT of boxes, it's not too bad, but even so ... I think my plan to move using 3 or 4 friends with their big cars & one mate with a big trailer for the sofa is just not going to work - I'm going to need a van, and a HUGE one at that!!
I just hope the EA gets the nod from the mortgage co now so we can complete on Friday!

Interesting to know about the CHAPS, we are planning on doing on Tuesday. Do I need authorisation then?

    An update from me:
Solicitor is writing up our report now and will give me a call to collect the contract hopefully early this week. They said that there shouldn't be a problem with us completing next Thursday as planned . Hurrah!! :j

    Can't wait now! :D

    Excellent news blondiebird!
Heard from the solicitor today that they have received our final payment, so now just have to wait for the phone call from them on Wednesday to say we can pick up the keys! Getting very excited now, despite the mountain of packing I still have to do!
