Pepsi!!

Morning

Not really a vent, just a little warning!
Every week when I do my weekly shop I buy a fridge filler size pack of pepsi max, this week I picked it up as normal, but when I got it home it was actually normal pepsi, not the pepsi max! I was a little annoyed with myself for obviously not reading the packaging properly, but on closer inspection it actually says pepsi, then underneath, 'max the flavour!' I must have just seen the word 'Max and assumed it was Pepsi Max! I hope your still following me!!

I know its my fault and I should have checked properly, but I don't normally read the labels of the regular items that I buy! Seems a little silly of Pepsi to use the word Max on the label, when Its just normal pepsi. I'm not after compensation before I get jumped on, just to make people who may buy Pepsi to be a little more vigilant!

When I nipped into Asda last night, to buy the actual Pepsi Max, I mentioned it to the Customer Services and she said they had numerous packs brought back with people wanting to exchange them as they had gotten confused too! (Glad its not just me!!) :rotfl:

  • I sometimes wonder, considering that this site is MONEYSAVINGexpert, why people shop as they do!!

So - what do you do with your Pepsi Max?
    Do you drink it neat?
Or do you add something to it - vodka, etc, i.e, do you adulterate the taste?
Do you REALLY enjoy the taste?
Or is it just the overall taste of a fizzy drink that you need?
Do you try to save money?

I too shop at Asda and I've got into the habit (when I'm at home) of drinking coffee in the morning - and then sticking to coke thereafter.
In the evening I often add vodka or cider to my coke - the coke becomes a 'carrier' or mixer.

    I buy Asda coke at 17p for a 2 litre bottle - or 0.85p per 100 ml.
It's fine - goes down well - good and fizzy - no nasty aftertaste!!

Pepsi Max's best price is 9.5p per 100 ml.

    That's over 1100% more expensive!!

Is the taste that's so important or is it just the name that you pay for?
For every action there is an equal and opposite criticism.

I just like drinking Pepsi Mx every now and then! Is that not ok anymore! It wasn't a thread intended to discuss my drinking habits, thats not really relevant, just to warn others to be more vigilant than I was! Of course I try to save money where I can, but there is little point buying something which I don't like to save a few pence.

P.S I can't stand cheap Asda coke, I prefer Pepsi and don't mind paying a little extra for it. Nothing to do with the name of the brand, just that I think pepsi max tastes nicer than the cheap alternative.

    Pepsi Max is sugar free.

A can of "normal" Pepsi contains 41 grams of sugar, imagine what that would do to a diabetics day. _pale__

My OH has Type 1 diabetes, but he doesn't drink any kind of pepsi! I was looking at the info on the normal can compared to the max and couldnt believe how much sugar it contains!

    No problem janninew,
I wasn't trying to cast aspersions - I was just 'investigating' why people spend loads of money on something.....you started the thread!!!:)
I suppose I've just got used to Asda coke.....

You obviously must be tight then as I don't call 99p or £1 expensive for a 6 pack ;)
