Mints are a no go for me as well, as is most chewing gum.

As Mudgekin says whether the scientific evidence proves anything or not, I know the effect it has on my body, and that can not be good for anyone.

Walkers prawn cocktail crisps have it in too.

I ate something yesterday with it in and havent managed to find out what yet. :(

They use (the misleadingly named) sucralose. It's still an artificial sweetener created in a chemical plant and is not "Made from sugar so it tastes like sugar" a slogan that Splenda got fined for and banned from using!

sugar is also made in a chemical plant with horrific chemicals used to extract and clean it

most oils are also extracted using vile chemicals, unless its cold pressed

Only if you use refined sugar.

I used unrefined in everything I possibly can.

"These are indeed extremely high levels for adducts of formaldehyde, a substance responsible for chronic deleterious effects that has also been considered carcinogenic."

As previous, tomatoes contain much higher levels of methanol than aspartame drinks.

"Relief of fibromyalgia symptoms following discontinuation of dietary excitotoxins."

Focuses more on MSG than aspartame, doesnt imply any causal link with aspartame - just that reducing excitotoxins can help reduce fibromyalgia symptoms. Excitotoxins such as aspartic acid come from a wide range of foods, not just aspartame.

    "Aspartame and Lymphomas / Leukemias"

The article was quite interesting, however although this data implies a link there are many studies which indicate no link. The study predicts a link at rates down to about 100mg/kg/day - average estimates of aspartame intake are about 3-5mg/kg/day

Im not trying to pretend that what you experience when taking aspartame doesnt exist. However what im trying to say is the majority of scientific studies say there is no dangers associated with aspartame and aspartame has been the most studied food additive ever.

We're all different, genetically speaking differences may arise if your body handles aspartame differently due to enzyme variants etc. (Just a point of view, havent seen any studies on this)
