Came home last night to find little gooseberries on my plants so they will need netting pretty quickly.
Also got my rocket gardens delivery today so they are all planted now. Hopefully they will give me a good crop of things to eat :)

    Hello peeps:D
Have had two very busy days in the garden. Yesterday despite the chilly wind cutting me in two saw me cutting in half 9 of those black pots that you can buy from morrisons at the cut flower stand. They were too high for planting up my geraniums and I have to say they don't look half bad! I have them outside but covering them with fleece every night. I then started on the so called lawn, before weeding all the flower beds, needless to say I ached all over last night.
Lot's of stuff seems very slow in coming through this year, according to my elderly and very wise gardening neighbour it's because the soil is still way too cold. He said it is because the soil chill depth in Scotland was way deeper than usual and it will take a wee bit later in the season for things to jig up. On the up side he said it means that seeds planted usually in April at the latest outdoors will still do well if planted in May:T
Today went to B&Q to buy their cheapest hedge trimmer, usually around £21 got it for £15 in the sale. This was to replace the one I wrecked by cutting through the cable, I would have mended that one but it was one of those ones that are almost a sealed unit and impossible to get into.
Guess what I managed to do within 30 mins of using the new one..............yes I cut the bliddy cable again:mad: The good thing is that this one is easy to get into so so I rewired the shorter cable and finished the job, I think it might be a good idea to buy some spare cable:o

delerium in all seriousness, Please take care in your Scottish gardening this summer, no heavy lifting, no too long working in the hopefully warm summer heat, and especially take care in any insecticides, fertilisers, or in fact any thing attached to gardening chemical, whether organic or man made. We will all expect updates and announcements on baby deleriums progress.
Cor your news sure beats any newly sprouted seeds in my garden:D:T:T:T:T

    :TCongratulations to Delerium...take care now.
I havent had time to read all the recent posts,im just quickly going to add that I ventured to Overton farm bootsale today(near Crossford)..It was massive and mobbed, and even although i went late afternoon i still managed to buy 2 Tumbling Tom tomato plants(one red and one yellow)for 50p each, and a tray of broccolli(12 plug plants)for £1,and a tray of parsley, again only £1.The guy selling these said he would be there next Sunday with a bigger collection including cabbages...also noticed Overton farm are selling plug plants and individual strawberry and tomato plants too...most were sold out by the time i got there, but they are restocking daily.

Hello peeps, hope you have all been covering up your tender plants!!!
It was very frosty at 4.30 this morning and that wind is today is bliddy freezing, no wonder the gardens are slow this year.
Potted up my toms yesterday and my romano pepper and jalopino chilli plants are coming on a treat, of course they are indoors and well protected from the cold.
My borliotti beans are looking very sad, I am not sure what to do with them, I moved them outdoors last week and have been protecting them with fleece but it looks like they have given up the ghost. On the bright side there are loads of wee baby blueberries on the two bushes I planted and the redcurrant looks promising.
Just praying the weather warms up.
