What you are really asking is how to be a racist legally?
How can you say the OP wants to be a legal racist? I agree with him entirely... When you call a customer service number it is usually because you want some sort of help, which when you get through to a non-native english speaker, can sometimes cause problems.
The trouble in particular with T-Mobile in Manilla is that their accents are very americanised, which some british people cant get to grips with, and likewise because britain has such a diverse range of regional accents the manillans cant always understand us either!
EDIT - And I suppose all of the above that dont care about where they ring wont be buying into the "British Jobs for British People" propaganda in the election????0 -
O2 - 100% UK based (only back office functions are subcontracted to India - nothing customer facing is)0

Vodafone do not have a call centre in India, but they do have one in Egypt which is for technical support.
The Vodafone Egyptian call centre offers polite, helpful and efficient support.
The rest of the call centres are UK based.0 -

T-Mobile have centres in Manilla Philipines, Hyderabad India, Greenock Scotland, Merthyr Tydfil Wales and Doxford Sunderland.
The head office is in Hatfield but no customer facing staff are based there0 -
Everytime I've spoken to Virgin Mobile I've got through to an English speaking CSA. I know it's different with Virgin Media, so I may just have been lucky with Virgin Mobile.
And yes I must be legally racist too, because I hate these call centres. They just don't understand my lovely accent.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

Everytime I have used T-Mobiles service line I have always got through to Manilla and NEVER to any of the UK ones. Wonder why I am so unlucky.
Anyway I found these people in Manilla to be very hard to speak to. Almost like American but for some reason horrid. I like American accents. They are almost like electronic robots to me. You speak, then there is an awful pause, just long enough to think you have been cut off. I am sure they are searching for an answer on a flow chart.
Wouldn't it be nice if T-Mobile had actually asked its customers if they would be happy if they transferred work to this centre. After all it is us that pays the wages.0 -

The French own Orange who in turn have taken over Orange UK (owned by Germans).0 -
O2 have a call centre in Glasgow, dont know where the rest are
EDIT: About 600 people where shoved on the dole when T-Mobile outsourced to Manilla last year...0 -
Blimey some of you people really are just spoiling for a fight! :rotfl:
Personally I agree with the OP - the T-Mobile call centre people really do sound like they are reading from a script - I have no idea where they are based and quite honestly don't give a !!!!!! as long as they understand me and can answer my queries which unfortunately most of them can't!
Sorry but we are all allowed our opinion!0
