Thanks to this great site I have managed to get my elderly Mum a large refund on her Council Tax. Our council have processed her claim for C.T.benefit within a week and she received a cheque this morning. We weren't expecting a refund. Thank you so much. Wouldn't have thought she was entitled to any help if it hadn't been for the calculator. Keep up the great work & thanks again.0

Due to checking the site my old Mum received a cheque for over £700.00 earlier this week and doesn't need to pay anything until next April. I filled in the forms for her and the council were excellant and processed her claim within a week. My Mum's over the moon and the refund will be a great help especially as she wasn't expecting it. Wish I'd checked before but better late than never. So very grateful to the site.0

The wonderful benefits agency did not inform me of an entilement to Guardians allowance for my two sisters following the death of our father, despite me ringing for Child Tax Credits. I lost out on payments of £20 per week for 18 months, ended up in arrears on my rent unnecessarily and will never get that money back as this was 7 years ago - just goes to show, you don't ask, you don't get0

sorry to hear that hayleyj - if in doubt check it out
always complete forms and submit whether in doubt and let them tell you if you are not entitled, it costs nothing and if ever you discover you are entitled at a later time you can appeal for misadvised and claim back what was owed0 -
Hi I used the entitled to calculator earlier on for my neighbour and it said that she was entitled to both Housing and Council tax benefit , but when she applied earlier this year she was told she wasnt entiltled to anything. I assumed that the entitled calculator was correct (I have used it loads for friends and family to check their tax credits) is there any other online calculator to check Housing and Council tax benefit rules/ entitlement?0

More details are needed, what means tested benefits did you have in mind because there are different rules depending on the benefit.0 -

The entitledto benefit calculator is not accurate and should only be used as a basic guide.0
