Hi all,
We're only just got a freezer a couple of weeks ago and it's looking pretty empty (we'll soon sort that though!). I'd like ideas for stuff i can batch cook at the weekend and freeze please?
We're sometimes to lazy/tired to cook anything too time consuming during the week, so reheating something would be great, any recipes for me please?
OH doesn't like cheese or white sauces but will eat pretty much anything else, i'll try anything once, lol!
TIA kind OSers :T:j Ready to take control of my life! :j

I buy beef and pork to batch casserole. Then bag up so I can pull them out for curries, sweet and sour, and pies etc.
I also mix batches of crumble topping for a quick sweet and make bags of pastry mix to add water to later, for pies. All you have to do is remember to take the things out soon enough to defrost before using.0 -

Thanks so much everyone, this is great, gonna take a while to get through the older threads, but i'm sure there will be lots of stuff on there!
I'm feeling a bit bored with dinners atm, so hopefully there will be some more unusual things in the older threads that i can freeze!:j Ready to take control of my life! :j

Hey all, had a massive trip to the supermarket last night for meat, was gonna batch cook last night but was too tired/lazy!
So, tonight's the night :j
Thought i'd post as i cook, prolly good for some giggles as i'm not the best cook in the world, and hopefully if i have any questions get them answered, hope this is ok! Thread can be deleted if not!
First of all are meatballs for the freezer which are already on. I just kinda improvised and used:
2 * packs of lean mince 454g each (i think, they're in the bin now :rotfl:)
2 eggs for binding
mixed herbs, salt and pepper
I put all that together in a bowl and got stuck in, made me wish i'd left it out the fridge a bit before i started though  brrrrrrr!
Managed to make exactly 24 almost identical meatballs which i fried off fast in olive oil. Then popped them in my soup pan (only thing big enough), and added:
2 * tins chopped tomatoes
splash of passata
gloop of tomato puree
some water
sugar
and now it's simmering away nicely! Only problem is it's looking a bit pink instead of red, do you guys think that's normal? Once it's reduced will it go back to being red (god you can tell i'm a bit useless, can't you?!)?
It was too much to hope for that the meatballs would all stay intact when i started stirring them in the sauce, but they're not looking too bad, not quite spag bol yet! :rotfl:
Next is twink's hobnobs from here thank goodness my baking is better than my cooking!:A:j Ready to take control of my life! :j
