Anyone know of any cheapish holiday parks close to the beach? Anywhere sort of Wales or lower lol including Isle of Wight. Everywhere is soooooo expensive in the holidays. Wondered if anyone knew of any hidden gems anywhere?

With IoW if you are traveling by car factor in the ferry cost, it can be high. If traveling by train there is a sort of loophole where you can get a ticket to Yarmouth IoW so that will include the ferry crossing. There isn't a rail terminal in Yarmouth any more, I think it was because British Rail ran a paddle steamer service over there 50 years ago or something archaic like that!0

Yes, I think the Isle of Wight will work out too costly.
Any good parks anyone? I've found Coral Beach in Skegness but I can't find it on Tripadvisor or ReviewCentre so I'm worried it's not going to be up to much!0 -

It looks perfect. If only it was cheaper in the summer holidays. Don't suppose you happen to know anyone who privately lets a caravan there?
Yes, we have kids. Just want a place with clean, modern accommodation, good entertainment and near the beach really.0 -

Is that all !!
Try owners direct or static caravans or caravan owners (all .uk) there used to be a kiln park owners club offering holiday lets.
It is pricey but does offer good location and keeps the ankle biters busy. Try eBay see what pops up on static caravan to hire or similar. If you drive consider going in land towards kilgetty or narbeth (cheaper location but still a simple drive into saundersfoot tenby etc (great beaches)
also try caravans4let/kilnpark:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -
We used this site for our holiday last year.

Only snag might be is that by renting private, you might have to pay for a membership to use the parks facilities. So look for ones that membership is included.0 -
Thanks guys, I will have a look around. The reviews aren't good for Kiln Park though which has put me off a bit. That's the problem - until you've been you don't know do you, but by that time you've spent your money!
Thanks to everyone who's taken the time to reply to me

We went to Pendine Sands a couple of years ago which is a Parkdean Site. It is literally right on the beach with a pub, cafe, takeaway and restaurant next to it. It has a pool and okay entertainment. It's only a short drive to Tenby and surrounding areas.
There are also a number of privately owned sites just outside Tenby and Saundersfoot. We have stayed on a couple and they were reasonable but they don't tend to have much in the way of entertainment that you get on the bigger sites.0 -
I normally if I have to use a ferry to get to my destination see if the destination I am going to combines the ferry cost and accomadation if you see what I mean? When I went to IoW many years ago that's what we did with the price of the holiday park and the ferry. Anyway have you thought about Kent or East Sussex? The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0

Thank you - I'll have a look at Pendine Sands.
Yes, Kent or Sussex would be ok. I'm looking anywhere in the bottom half of the country really.
All the prices are too high during the holidays though - maybe I'm asking too much
