Can I just quietly say that I find it very distateful that people are using PenPen's thread to push their own agenda.

PP - thank you for a thankless task done well. Chin up!!

Everyone else - there are a number of people on both sides of this arguement who seem intent on continuing to squabble over the rights and wrongs of this despite EVERYONE claiming that we are all entitled to our own point of view.

What exactly are you achieving by this?

PP, i just want to say, i dont think you did anything wrong and i cant believe the attitude and comments made towards you (and other people). I have been on the recieving end of comments (although nothing as bad as you have had) so I can kind of understand to a lesser extent how you feel. I do hope you come back soon.

    You will be missed.

I agree we are not achieving anything, but then, the OP was bound to lead down this route, because in the interests of fairness those who are being accused of upsetting the OP to the extent that she feels the need to resign will obviously also feel the need to respond.

Presumably the OP knew this would happen?

Perhaps this is the type of thread which need to be closed, so that a line can be drawn under the issues and allow everyone to move forward.

    Please MrsE :(

Can you just stop now? If you didn't want to upset Penny then it was, at best, ill advised of you to start a thread on another board about her which Martin himself has had to close.

And for the umpteenth time, I don't see where anyone said that a thread of the type you describe was unwelcome on OS. Indeed lots of us have been posting on the new thread today.

I really don't want to keep repeating it but I am trying to make you see that your assertion that some threads are unwelcome is incorrect. That's not why Penny locked the original thread and that is honestly the last time I'm going to say that.:o

My post was in no way argumentative or trying to upset. I tried to clarify a clumsy comment I had made so as not to cause further upset.
    I'm damned if I do & damned if I don't now though.

Havent read the thread which has caused this upset but i cant believe that something that wasnt life threatning could cause adults to behave in this way and attack someone verbally who was just doing what they thought was the right thing for the good of the board thank you to Penelope Penguin for being a board guide you will be sorely missed dont stay away too long

pen p I haven't seen the posts in question and I feel ashamed that anyone on here could stoop so low to someone who has spent a lot of their time helping and supporting others.I only hope whoever has upset you will feel suitably ashamed of their comments:mad: I do hope you don't stay away for too long as we all need to have sensible down-to earth people who can see all sides without any prejudice.I am so sorry that you won't be on here and you will be hugely missed by me, if not the greater nmajority of the posters on here.
My best wishes to you and your family and I bet they are very proud to have such a smashing mum to care for them all.:A:A:A
