I don't post much on here but have always enjoyed reading other peoples posts -but I can't believe that some people can be so pedantic & petty! Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things?! Please don't let them get to you, it seems to me you do a fab job as do all the BGs, there is really no need for playground behaviour on here. Take care & I hope you decide to carry on, after all this is supposed to be a place to come for advice & I have certainly learned from you in the past x0

I know you may not even get to read this but I want to say THANK YOU for all you have done for the posters on Old Style. I havent seen the comments and from what you say I dont want to, please have a heart felt hug from me and once agains thank you xMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0

I think some of this was "quiet boards" syndrome where folks who primarily post in other sections of MSE find themselves on the OS boards and have no concept of the usual behaviour in the OS section.
This isn't the Arms or some of the other combative areas, this is OS where posters treat each other with respect and respect the views of others without resorting to infantile behaviour.Piglet

The implication is that I dont have better things to do?
I probably do, but it is important to me that things are fair and warranted. I felt this action was neither, and as far as I am am aware I am entilted to state that, just as you are entitled not to bother.:)0 -
Aw sorry to hear that Penelope, i look forward to seeing your name on posts as there is no doubt some informative, interesting info and advice.
I hope you come back soon x0 -

Yes, you've made your point, over and over again on the other thread. I think you've put your point of view across.Piglet

I made some of the posts which may have upset the OP, not the Hitler one, ( I didn't actually see that one) None were meant to hurt but simply state how an action was viewed.
They were not nasty or of the kind that should provoke this reaction. I am sorry that they have, but I have to say that I stand by my comments, they are there to be read, let others judge if they warrant this reaction. I personally said nothing that I would not say face to face, or anything which I feel ashamed of or feel uncomfortable about.
I am sorry this has affected the OP the way she describes, but cannot in truth understand why that should be the case. I am speaking for my posts only here, which were polite and expressed my opinion.
ETA if it isn;t that important why this reaction?
The Hitler comment was mine & no way did I call the OP Hitler, I was describing a dictatorial type of behaviour (I should have worded it better).
In no way do (or did) I want to upset Penelope, or for her to want to step away from OS. I just wanted to be allowed to post on a different type of food that many people (& I genuinely have had a lot of PMs on this subject) want to talk about, but are scared to broach because it provokes an extreme reaction on OS - this afternoon being a perfect example.
I personally think this has got way out of hand & thats why I have refused to bite to several inflammatory posts.
There really should be room for everyones point of view on here, without WW3:(0 -
I am really sorry that you have felt so bad today PenPen and hope after a few days away you will feel much better. Being a board guide is obviously a thankless task at times.

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -

It seems that a POV is only acceptable if it co incides with that of " some" others. FYI I was answering a point made by thriftlady.0
