Being a board guide/moderator is a pretty !!!!!! job at times. What I saw in the other thread - and I suspect it wasn't all that had gone on was absolutely pathetic and those involved really ought to question themselves. I'm sure they won't, I'm sure they'll say it was fair discussion and "democracy" but the reality is it was just stupid, puerile behaviour.

I really wouldn't let them get to you Pen Pen, just remember that it's their behaviour that was the problem not yours...

Ignore them and don't let them get you down....

I'm not an OS regular, and I only came across the threads in question today, but their content and the ferocity of some of the posters really shocked me.

I am very sorry PP that you feel you have to step back from your BG work with MSE, you have done an outstanding job.

I wouldn't be a moderator if you paid me. Every forum I've ever frequented has had lovely moderators who give up their free time to try and make their particular forum a nice place, but who have had to take an awful lot of undeserved stick/abuse/whinging from disgruntled posters. I know it's easy to say but it's not worth getting yourself upset over. For every one whinger, there's probably a hundred of us who think you're doing a great job. I for one would be very sorry to see you go.

I saw this and ddint want to read and run. Here goes, Penny sod them, ( i havnt read any such posts) Hold your head up high and carry on doing what you are doing. Dont give them the satisfaction.
I have read quite a few threads where some one feels the need to have a go at certain types. I cant understand why they feel the need to do this.
I really hope you feel better after reading the replies that some of the nicer folk have given you.

Penny I'm really sad that you have been made so unhappy I hope you feel better about things soon:kisses3:. I always thought being a BG was a thankless task, looks like I was right -sigh. Open a bottle or two Penny and forget about these petty people who need to get a life;)

I'm always amazed that anyone cares whether a thread gets closed/merged/moved or whatever. It's just a discussion forum folks, get some perspective. These things get done to keep things running smoothly and it's really not worth getting het up about (people who moan when threads are moved etc not you Penny). Look how much upset you cause by making a song and dance out of something that isn't really that important.

I made some of the posts which may have upset the OP, not the Hitler one, ( I didn't actually see that one) None were meant to hurt but simply state how an action was viewed.

They were not nasty or of the kind that should provoke this reaction. I am sorry that they have, but I have to say that I stand by my comments, they are there to be read, let others judge if they warrant this reaction. I personally said nothing that I would not say face to face, or anything which I feel ashamed of or feel uncomfortable about.

I am sorry this has affected the OP the way she describes, but cannot in truth understand why that should be the case. I am speaking for my posts only here, which were polite and expressed my opinion.

ETA if it isn;t that important why this reaction?
