The real issue here is that the OP has been a BG for some time I assume, and for that reason understandably many on here are rallying round without even having read or been party to, the thread which allegedly caused her such upset. In my opinion it was not the thread referred to above, but the one which was started afterwards and then closed.

However, if the posts in that thread are read it will become apparent that the points raised were not raised in a manner designed to upset, but to get a point across, a point which was not well received by the OP.

I understand the job of a BG is not an easy one, but if you volunteer you should be able to take the good with the bad and let it wash over you.

Being a BG does not confer a status which means you are above reproach, provided that reproach is polite and not aggressively framed.

To be very honest the OP here astounds me, and smacks of a childish attempt to stir the situation by garnering support from those who it appears will do so without being in possession of the facts, or who will support a "friend" blindly, whatever the reality of the situation.

Further, if the OP really was so upset by the posts (which are there to be read) then perhaps it is best that she does take a break, as they were not offensive, unless one is extremely sensitive.

I am sure the OP is an excellent BG, and that is why the support is there, but none of us is perfect, we make mistakes, and others are entitled to comment on those issues without being subject to a witch hunt for daring to do so. Especially when they did as I did and used the correct channel, via abuse, as instructed.

Her decision to leave has nothing to do with that post.

But I'm wondering why you quoted me & then "apologised" for buying a whoopsie.

You were having a little joke with your friends, implying I was a snob who would disapprove.

Why such hostility from the off?

Poet, You must be very thick skinned if you wouldn't find someone referring to you as a little Hitler in a completely inflammatory thread on another board offensive. And I think that you calling Penny childish on this thread is also completely unneccesary and very unkind.

Obviously having missed the point of why HJ has been singled out as i cannot see what she has said wrong except asked this unpleasentness to stop I think for the sake of PPenguin this is showing exactly why she has chosen to give up being a board guide some people seem to have taken the stand of dragging this what was easily sorted at the time problem around this forum posting on other boards and generally looking for backing which as you can see has not been forthcoming so please STOP NOW:mad:
