Are you saying that the seller isnt UK based....??:eek:Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Nooo! He is UK based! He lives in Berkshire near Reading! My thinking is might need to go to Bristol to be sorted first which might be busy at this time.0

The OP said it is coming from Berkshire! However I do think there is a Berkshire in the US!
Have you asked him why he only sent it First Class? My daughters are my world0 -
On his eBay advert it didn't specify what postal method, it just said 'varies' but I thought common sense would have said that when sending something that expensive it's a good idea to get it insured!
I have asked him why he didn't send it by Special Delivery and told him the complications. In his reply he seemed to avoid the topic! But when I asked if he even had a receipt for the postage at all he said 'no.'
So he has no proof of postage what so ever!0 -
Well if it doesn't turn up Royal Mail can't be blamed as there is no proof of it being sent.
If you have saved all the emails from the seller then you could try taking it to court. It's not nice being ripped off by dishonest people so good luck - hope you get your money back (or your camera miraculously arrives). My daughters are my world0 -
I honestly don't think that air is going to be involved with the two places concerned. 1st class standard can take a few days, but frankly the 'my paypal isn't working' bit screams scam.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I thought if this was a scam though, when he had my money he would run and delete all his accounts etc. But he still communicates. I mention how I can't afford to loose £500 and he said he can't afford to loose £500 either (which confused me as I am the one who has lost money not him!).
So I don't see why he is still replying after he has taken my money?!0 -

You have made a transfer of funds from your account to another account. The bank has acted on your instructions, and their involvement ends there. There is NO way that they can, or will, reverse a funds transfer - this is why it is such an appealing payment method to sellers.RadicalRooster wrote: »I still can't believe he didn't send it Special Delivery!Philip0 -

Yep, IF you trade via EBay!
If it was a direct transfer the bank would be unlikely to be able to help.
There's advice available via CAB or Trading Standards, the latter may be able to help get more details for you for a small claim. If it is more a case of fraud than naivety/incompetence on the part of the seller then contact the police, who will do their best not to investigate but have a duty to..0 -

I think you should be thinking I still can;t believe I fell for that one! He's probably talking to you just to string you along for a laugh i'm afraid.0
